Dear Friends,

This past Summer, I tried renting a van to transport several kids from our underrepresented communities to a tennis camp in Greensboro. There was no van available and I was saddened with the inability to offer a healthy, positive adventure for them.

In another instance, we needed to get some kids from Stephens Lee Community Center over to the racquet club for our summer Champions Camp. A van was available this time, but the time spent to find it, and the cost to rent it resulted in a lot of frustration.There are many more examples, as you can imagine.

So, on behalf of the board of the Asheville Tennis Association (ATA) we are THRILLED to announce a capital campaign to purchase a van! A very generous couple has already kick-started us with a $10K donation — a humbling gift from folks who recognize the ATA wants to keep doing amazing things to grow the game of tennis. The ATA has also contributed $5K — a large amount for our small non profit.
