LinkedIn Tips for May
TIP 1 - About : LinkedIn has extended the character count for this important section to 2600 - remember that count includes spaces. This new change is being 'rolled out' so if you do not yet have it, you will, soon. Take advantage of this additional space to declare your value proposition. You are being Viewed for a reason!

TIP 2 - Updated LinkedIn User Agreement: We are always striving to keep our audience informed of important changes. Here's a link to the latest version of Section 8 of the LIUA titled Do's and Don'ts. Be careful when you consider 'automated lead generation' programs... most DO incorporate 'scraping software' - is it worth having your account Restricted? And losing all those Connections?

TIP 3 - Upgraded LinkedIn Memberships: We always advise our clients to opt for an initial free month trial when considering an upgrade to a paid membership. 'Try before you buy' works best! We've recently learned that you are only allowed one trial per 12 months - do be mindful of that stipulation.

TIP 4 - Withdrawing an Invitation: You may not realize that LinkedIn gives you an 'allotment' of 3k Invitations to Connect when you create your account. Occasionally, we recommend Withdrawing Invitations that are over a month old. We think if a month has passed the person has either viewed your invite and chosen to Ignore you, or they simply aren't on LinkedIn very often. Withdrawn Invitations will help to keep your 'allotment' robust. How: Tap My Network > if No Pending Invitations, tap Manage to the right OR > tap See All to the right of Invitations > Under Manage Invitations, tap Sent. Scroll to the bottom and start Withdrawing the older ones. Tip: You will not be able to re-invite those members for 3 weeks.
