Recognition Month

At the April 24th board meeting, Linn-Mar Superintendent Shannon Bisgard read a proclamation in honor of May as School Board Recognition Month.

In part, the superintendent's proclamation reads as follows...

"I declare May 2023 as School Board Appreciation Month and encourage all students, staff, and community members to recognize the devotion and service of the Linn-Mar Board of Directors."

Friday, May 5th

School Lunch Super Hero Day

Linn-Mar will celebrate School Lunch Hero Day on May 5th. This day, celebrated annually since 2013, was designated by The School Nutrition Association and Jarrett Krosoczka, author of the “Lunch Lady” graphic novel series.

Sign Up For Kindergarten

Parents who have not enrolled their child in Kindergarten for the 2023-2024 school year, there is still time to do so.

If you are unsure of the location of your neighborhood school, please go to the Linn County Public Schools Attendance Areas website to learn more.

Parents should communicate with their school office.

Proof of residence and the child’s birth certificate/proof of birth are required to begin the process.

Students must be 5 years old on or before Sept, 15, 2023.

Community Mental Health Fair

May 2nd

The Venture Behavioral Science class recently discovered through a City of Marion survey that 60% of residents felt they did not have availability of affordable, quality mental health care.

In doing their own research, the students realized that the issue may be one of awareness, not availability.

May 2nd from 5:00 to 7:30 in the community room of the Marion Public Library, various counseling centers, student support staff, non-profits, and other businesses will be on hand to share the wide range of mental health resources that are available before a crisis occurs.

Everyone is welcome. Admission is free.

Commencement 2023

The 64th graduating class of Linn-Mar High School will receive their diplomas at commencement Sunday, May 28th at 1:00 PM at the Alliant Energy Powerhouse.
