Dine Out for Schools TODAY


Join the Linn-Mar Foundation TODAY (Thursday, April 20th) at any of the participating Dine Out restaurants. Dine Out partners donate a percentage of sales back to our Foundation to support our District classrooms and programs.

Carry-out, drive-through, and delivery orders (where applicable) will benefit our K-12 Linn-Mar schools. Be sure to mention the Dine Out event before placing your order. Options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert!

Culver’s Frozen Custard & Butterburgers – Marion (4-8 PM only),

Sign Up For Kindergarten


Parents who have not enrolled their child in Kindergarten for the 2023-2024 school year, there is still time to do so.


If you are unsure of the location of your neighborhood school, please go to the Linn County Public Schools Attendance Areas website to learn more.


Parents should communicate with their school office.

Proof of residence and the child’s birth certificate/proof of birth are required to begin the process.


Students must be 5 years old on or before Sept, 15, 2023.

Providing a safe environment in our schools for the students and staff is the most important thing we do as a school district, so we take this very seriously.

Spring Musical


It's the LMHS Fine Arts Department's Event of the Year!.


Les Miserables will take the stage

April 27-29 at 7:00 PM in the Linn-Mar High School Auditorium.

Creative Coasters


8th graders at Excelsior Middle School are creating roller coasters and calculating the energies involved in successfully making a marble roll through a track. 


The coasters were judged on the effort put into the finished product, the theme, how well the theme was incorporated into the project, and if the marble actually made it through the coaster!

College Letter of Intent


Nine Linn-Mar Student Athletes took part in the Letter of Intent ceremony Wednesday, April 19th in the South Commons.

Spring Art Reception


A closing reception will be held Thursday, May 11th from 5:30 to 7:00 PM for the 21st annual Linn-Mar High School Spring Art Show.


Awards will be presented at 6:15.

The public is invited to see the amazing creativity of our very talented artists.


The show is in the Pride Rock Commons of the high school.

Parent Survey


Linn-Mar parents are asked to check their email for information about the Conditions for Learning Survey.


All Iowa public school districts are required to administer an annual school climate and culture survey each year.


The deadline to complete the survey is April 28th.

 


Volunteer Appreciation Week


Volunteer appreciation events are now planned for our K-4 schools to thank all volunteers for their time in supporting Linn-Mar students and staff. All volunteers are welcome to attend this celebration of service and support for the school, whether you are a Junior Achievement, PTO or classroom volunteer, all are welcome to attend this short program! Please join us at your school!

Music Honors


Iowa High School Music Association’s State Solo/Ensemble Festival 

18 performances received a Division I (Superior) rating. Additionally, several Linn-Mar students were named “Outstanding Performers”

Colton Center Jazz Ensemble brought home second place in class 4A at the Iowa Jazz Championships at Iowa State University.

10th Street Edition was named Grand Champion at the 2023 Show Choir Nationals at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.

Kyra Kanz was named the outstanding female soloist. Grant Galloway was named outstanding male soloist, and Tejas Gururaja was recognized as outstanding male performer.
