Where Do LinnStruments Live?

I find it interesting to see where in the world LinnStruments live. So with the help of ChatGPT, I created two documents that show all registered LinnStrument and LinnStrument 128 owners in the world:

1) A world map showing the 40 cities with the most LinnStruments (shown above)

2) A table showing all cities where LinnStruments live, sorted by quantity (shown below)

Take a look to see how many LinnStrument owners live in your city.

Notes: 
1) There are some errors, but it's generally pretty accurate. 
2) These documents don't include over a thousand LinnStrument owners who bought from a dealer and didn't register their purchase. 
3) Interestingly, ChatGPT's "Auto" mode failed at creating the world map, for example placing some cities in the wrong countries. But switching to its "Thinking" mode worked.

I enjoy seeing how musicians in other cultures use LinnStrument in their music. One of my favorites is Salim Nair from Kochi, India, who plays LinnStrument with a skilled subtlety of touch in his performance of traditional Indian instrument sounds. Here's a video performance of his called "Mindful Music Raga Mararanjani". Click the picture above to watch the video.

Controlling Ableton Live from LinnStrument

Are you an Ableton Live user and would like to control Live from LinnStrument? LinnStrument owner Tobias Noseda of Switzerland has created a remote script for Live that does exactly that, for both LinnStrument and LinnStrument 128. And he provides graphic files to print and attach labels to your LinnStrument panel. As he describes this script:

"This script adds clip launcher and a mixer functionality to your LinnStrument while using it in Ableton Live. It's a custom remote script focused on live looping in session view."

Mirrored Note Layout

LinnStrument permits a wide variety of pitch arrangements. One that I find interesting is the Mirrored Layout, in which the right split is a mirror image of the left split, achieved by turning on a hidden setting called Left Hand Mode on the right split only.

If you'd like to experiment with this layout, press Global Settings, then in column 1, fourth button from the front:

1) Press the button to turn it on.

2) HOLD the button to see its settings page, then slide your finger to the right to select "REVR" (reverse right).

3) Turn on SPLIT mode.

To learn more about Left Hand mode, open the Panel Settings page, Global Settings page, and search for "Left Hand mode".

The next "All things LinnStrument" Zoom call is this Tuesday July 7th at 10 am California time. All are welcome-- LinnStrument owners and those interested in LinnStrument. I'm happy to answer questions from potential buyers or newbies, and interesting discussions often ensue between owners about tips, techniques, specific synths, or editing the source code.
