Hello from Roger Linn--

1) Some older videos that newer players may not have seen

I and others have made so many how-to videos about LinnStrument that it's hard to think of a new idea for a video that hasn't been done before. So for newer LinnStrumentalists who haven't seen the earlier videos, here are a few that I think are particular helpful.

First, here's a video I made in 2017, "Playing Expressive Gestures on LinnStrument". It gives some helpful tips on how to perform gestures to emulate specific acoustic instruments.

Second, here's one I made in 2015 called "LinnStrument 3-part pitch slides"--- sliding 3-fingered triads left or right on the playing surface. I think this is powerful capability of LinnStrument, and I'm surprised that no LinnStrument player has used this technique in a video.

Third, here's one I made in 2022, "LinnStrument’s hidden settings", in which I highlight most of LinnStrument hidden settings, settings accessed by holding a button or other ways not printed on the panel.

To find all hidden settings, open the Panel Settings page and in each of the 6 tabs, search for "hidden". Most of them are in the Per-Split Settings and Global Settings tabs.

Finally, here's a video by one of my favorite LinnStrumentalists, Fontaine Burnett. Made in 2022, it's called "The Eight-Fingered Hand" and he describes how to finger complex chords using both hands.

2) Worried about tariffs? LinnStrument is made in the USA.

LinnStrument is manufactured in the USA, specifically in Brisbane, California, just south of San Francisco. Though some parts come from other places like Canada and Taiwan, the vast majority come from the USA.

So when it comes time for me to order the next production of LinnStrument and I find the need to raise the customer price due to tariffs, rest assured any increase will be much less than companies that manufacture in China or other tariffed countries.

3) Next LinnStrument Zoom call is Tuesday June 3

The next First-Tuesday-Of-The-Month-LinnStrument-Zoom-Call is Tuesday June 3 at 10 am California time. All are welcome-- LinnStrument owners or those interested in LinnStrument. I'm happy to answer questions from potential buyers or newbies, and interesting discussions often ensure between owners about tips, techniques, specific synths, or editing the source code.

To get the Zoom meeting link, click here or click "Monthly Zoom call with Roger" from the LinnStrument Support page. I hope you can join the meeting, if not this one then on any future first Tuesday of the month at 10 am California time.
