Hello from Roger Linn--

Here are a few items of possible interest to LinnStrument owners or enthusiasts.

1) Recent notable videos by LinnStrumentalists

Here are some recent videos by LinnStrument players that I like.

First, here's a good video by Nicholas Owen-Petch, demonstrating playing right-hand solo lines on LinnStrument while playing left-hand accompaniment on piano. I like his subtle and skilled expressive control of loudness and vibrato of the violin sound, as well as his ability to do this while also playing the piano part:

Next, here's one from one of my favorite LinnStrumentalists, Jeremy Cubert. This one uses the Eagan Matrix synthesizer's sound "Kronecker synth" for a glass-like percussive sound, with Y-axis adding a repeating trill:

Here's a good example of guitar gestures, playing the solo from John Mayer's "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room". Unfortunately I don't know the player's name, only his YouTube handle "InffihMusic":

Finally, here's one from LinnStrumentalist Grady O'Connell. I like this one because of the unique pitch arrangement he uses. The rows are tuned in fourths as in the default LinnStrument tuning, but each row consists of consecutive whole tones instead of consecutive semitones, as shown in the upper half of the screen. Given that the row interval is 5 semitones, an odd number, each row contains the pitches that are between the whole tones of the adjacent row. Plus, he plays very well:

2) Next LinnStrument Zoom call on this Tuesday March 4, hosted by Geert Bevin

The next First-Tuesday-Of-The-Month-LinnStrument-Zoom-Call is this Tuesday March 4 at 10 am California time. All are welcome, LinnStrument owners and potential LinnStrument owners.

I (Roger) will be out of town, so the meeting with be hosted by LinnStrument software creator Geert Bevin. This is a great opportunity for musician coders to ask questions about LinnStrument open source code.

To get the Zoom meeting link, click here or click "Monthly Zoom call with Roger" from the LinnStrument Support page. I hope you can join us, if not then on any first Tuesday of the month at 10 am California time.
