JUSTICE is one of the cardinal virtues. It directs the will toward harmonizing personal good with the good of others, and giving each their due. The virtue of justice allows us to see beyond ourselves to give of our time and attention in order to maintain balance.

REASON TO CELEBRATE!
STUDENTS ACHIEVE RECORD PASS RATE FOR AP TEST
We proudly announce JSerra's record pass rate for AP Exams in the 2023-24 school year of 92.8%! Something unique about JSerra AP courses is that all students enrolled in an AP course take the AP Exam. Considering this, our pass rate was 39% higher than the national pass rate, which is quite an accomplishment for our students and faculty.

PSAT/NMSQT FOR JUNIORS
Wednesday, October 9 | 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. | Various Classrooms
The PSAT/NMSQT for juniors will take place at JSerra. Students DO NOT need to register for the exam. Room assignments will be posted on the walls of the classroom buildings a few days before the exam. The PSAT is now a digital exam so a laptop will be required. If you are using an iPad, an external keyboard will be required. All electronic devices need to be able to hold a charge for 3 hours. Please download the bluebook app - see link below.
Students with accommodations will end testing at approximately 1:30 p.m. (the exact end time is determined based on the student’s accommodations). Students who have applied for accommodations should check with Mr. Clute to verify that your accommodations have been approved. Pending approvals can be granted as late as the week right before the exam.

THE JSERRA SACRAMENTS PROGRAM (OCIA)
The OCIA Program, which starts in a few weeks, is a way for students to prepare for the Sacraments of Baptism, Holy Communion, and Confirmation. Any students interested in becoming Catholic or having questions about the process should email Sr. Miriam or they can have a discussion with their theology teacher. (Note: OCIA is specifically for those who were not Baptized in a Catholic church. Confirmation for baptized Catholics must be done through one’s local parish.)

COLLEGE REP VISITS 2024
College admission representatives will have in-person information sessions with our students throughout the fall. STUDENTS: please make sure to add schools to your "Colleges I'm Thinking About" list in Naviance so you will be notified if they visit our campus. Colleges will be added frequently, so check the list of visits at the beginning of each week. Visits will take place during Lunch B in the Quad in a mini-fair format. Students need to sign up for the visits through Naviance if they would like to speak to the reps.

Senior students and parents: It is time to sign up for your mandatory Senior College Prep meetings. During these 45-minute meetings, your counselor will ensure you are all set for the college application process. Please check your email for more information and make an appointment. You must let your teacher know in advance, and you are still responsible for any homework, projects, or assignments due on the day of your meeting.

RUGBY PRE-SEASON TRAINING
If you are interested in playing rugby this upcoming season and are not currently playing a fall sport, please join our Rugby team for pre-season strength & conditioning and rugby skills training. This is an introduction to weightlifting and rugby, so no previous experience is required.
