Kudo to Attorney Connie Dai for being Recognized as one of Boston Magazine's Top Lawyers of 2025

In its December 2025 / January 2026 issue, Boston Magazine released its annual “Top Lawyers” guide — a peer-nominated directory recognizing over 1,100 of Greater Boston’s leading attorneys across a wide range of specialties.

According to the magazine’s methodology, local lawyers were invited to nominate up to three peers in select practice areas; the top vote-getters in each area were then reviewed by an advisory board based on professional credentials and peer votes. Connie Dai — Managing Partner at LION'S LAW, P.C. — was among those newly recognized in 2025.

Meet Jimmy McCormack, the Newest Attorney

Lion's Law is welcoming a new attorney to join our team.

Attorney Jimmy McCormack represents individuals and businesses in employment and civil litigation matters, with a strong focus on advocating for companies and employees. A Massachusetts native, he brings a client-centered approach shaped by years of front-line service work and extensive experience as a consent educator and advocate. Known for his empathy, clear communication, and persuasive advocacy, Attorney McCormack helps clients navigate complex legal processes while working toward practical, meaningful outcomes. Congratulations to Jing Liu, Law Clerk, Sworn in As a Licensed Foreign Legal Consultant

Congratulations to Ms. Jing Liu on being sworn in by the Clerk of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts as a licensed Foreign Legal Consultant in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Ms. Liu is a law clerk at Lion's Law and has been a licensed practicing attorney in China for more than twenty years.

New Case Development

CORPORATE TRANSACTION

We have advised and prepared legal documents for a client, an assignee and minority shareholder of a Delaware-incorporated CRO, to receive transfer of all stocks, valued for multiple millions of dollars, from the majority shareholder, an offshore-incorporated company with a publicly-traded Chinese subsidiary. 

PROBATE LITIGATION

After almost eight months of battle in and out of court, Lion's Law has reached a satisfactory settlement for our client, the widow of a decedent who passed away suddenly, leaving millions of dollars of lottery winnings as part of his estate.

The legal issues were whether the lottery winnings held in a "Let It Be" Trust were the couple's joint marital assets and whether a copy of the decedent's will, which was executed many years before his marriage to our client, was valid.

With strategic judgment, thorough legal research, unwavering diligence, and a human-centered approach and empathy, our team consisting of Attorney Connie Dai, Attorney Echo Wang and Attorney Jimmy McCormack has successfully guided a highly-contested matter to a fair settlement.

Lion's Law proudly sponsored NECAA's (New English Chinese American Alliance, www.necaa.net) 2025 Annual Alliance Gala held in the State House on October 20, 2025. NECAA is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit that promotes Chinese-American participation in community and civic engagements and enhances Chinese-Americans’ influence in New England. Lion's Law was honored with a Community Contribution Award during the ceremony.

We are also privileged to be a continuous sponsor for the 40th Annual Harry H. Dow Memorial Legal Assistance Fund Celebration held at Empire Garden on December 5, 2025 (https://www.dowfund.org/). In 1929, Mr. Dow, a graduate of Suffolk Law School, became the first Asian-American admitted to practice law in Massachusetts. The fund was established to provide permanent endowment to ensure access to the legal system for Asian-Americans who are deprived of justice due to barriers in language, race or immigration status.

祝贺刘静女士（Jing Liu）在马萨诸塞州最高司法法院书记官的见证下宣誓，正式成为马萨诸塞州持证外国法律顾问。刘女士现为狮法律师事务所律师助理，并在中国拥有超过二十年的执业经验。

公司交易

我们为客户提供法律咨询并起草了相关交易法律文件。该客户为一家特拉华州注册的 CRO（合同研究组织）公司的受让人及少数股东。在交易过程中，Lion’s Law代表客户与公司控股股东进行了持续，谨慎且富有成效的协商，谈判，最终成功成功协助客户自公司控股股东处受让取得公司全部股份，交易金额达数百万美元。该控股股东为一家在境外注册的公司，并拥有一家在中国公开上市的子公司。

遗嘱与遗产诉讼

经过近八个月的庭内外激烈交锋和艰苦卓越的努力，Lion’s Law 成功为客户争取并达成了令人满意的和解方案。该客户系一位突遭丧偶的遗孀。被继承人去世时，其遗产中包括一笔金额高达数百万美元的彩票收益。

本案的核心法律争议在于：其一，该笔置于“搁置型信托（let it be trust）”名下的彩票是否构成夫妻共同婚姻财产；其二，被继承人在与我方客户结婚多年之前所签署的一份遗嘱复印件是否仍具法律效力。

NECAA 为一家 501(c)(4) 非营利组织，致力于促进华裔美国人在社区及公共事务中的参与度，并提升华裔美国人在新英格兰地区的社会影响力。Lion’s Law 在本次活动中荣获“社区贡献奖”。

此外，我们亦深感荣幸能够持续赞助于 2025 年 12 月 5 日在帝苑大酒楼（Empire Garden）举行的第 40 届哈里·H·邓（Harry H. Dow）纪念法律援助基金庆典（https://www.dowfund.org/）。哈里·邓先生于 1929 年毕业于萨福克大学法学院，是马萨诸塞州首位获准执业的亚裔美国律师。该基金的设立旨在提供永久性捐赠支持，为因语言、种族或移民身份等障碍而难以获得司法救济的亚裔美国人提供持续的法律援助支持，帮助其顺利进入法律体系并实现公平正义。
