Quaero Life Science Celebrates the Anniversary of Its Massachusetts Manufacturing Facility Opening

Quaero is a leading Chinese  manufacturer of IVD instruments and life science consumables. Another Form of Unpaid Wages - Miscalculation of PTO and Delayed Salary Increase After Promotion

We have advised a client life science company with a smooth department shut down and layoff of its entire staff. We offered sound advice to ward off challenges from a few senior staff on potential wages owed as a result of problematic tracking and communication of paid time off. The wage claim also arose from a delayed salary increase following an employee's promotion. The takeaway of this client's avoidable problem is that any employer should adopt a clear policy on how paid vacation time is calculated and tracked. The status should be communicated with employees in writing on a timely basis. The employer should implement the pay increase on the next payroll date following the employee's promotion.

另一种形式的欠薪——PTO（带薪休假）计算错误及晋升后加薪延迟

我们近期协助一家生命科学企业顺利完成部门关闭及全员裁员工作。在项目过程中，我们为客户提供了专业法律建议，成功帮助其应对部分高级员工提出的潜在欠薪主张。相关争议主要源于公司在带薪休假（PTO）记录和沟通方面存在管理缺陷，导致员工认为其应获得额外工资补偿。

此外，欠薪问题还涉及员工晋升后薪资调整未能及时落实。由于加薪未在晋升后的适当时间生效，员工据此主张公司拖欠工资差额。

本案例反映出一个原本可以避免的问题：雇主应建立清晰、透明的带薪休假计算和管理制度，并及时以书面形式向员工告知其休假余额及使用情况。同时，员工晋升后的薪资调整应在晋升后的下一发薪日正式生效，以降低劳动争议风险并确保合规运营。
