LATEST CASE ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND ARTICLES

During the summer, Attorney Cheng has taken multiple wins in the court room. He represents a travel agency that purchases a bus through financing from the bank. Due to COVID, our client failed to pay the loan, nor was it able to use the buses because of the defect of bus title. Bank sued for the loan balance. We argued frustration of operation caused by COVID and lack of title at the fault of bank. The bank blamed the dealer for the title defect then the bank filed a summary judgement, moving the court to rule against our client. We successfully persuaded the judge to deny the bank's summary judgment based on the evidence presented.

Kudos shall also be given to Attorney Cheng on a complete victory for an eviction case.

The tenant owed months of rent, and sued our client the landlord for failure to keep a habitable property. Landlord filed eviction. With two times of failed mediation where landlord made generous offer to tenant, which were all rejected by tenant. The case proceeded to eviction trial and we won. The court also ruled that landlord has primarily been diligent in repairing the property. Tenant asked to stay at the property despite the eviction ruling, reasoning he is unable to secure a new residence. We opposed and the court sided with us. Tenant was evicted by the Constable days after. It was an incredibly hard case - combining the lengthy process of maneuvering the housing court and the tenant's extremely obnoxious and disruptive behavior.
