2026–2027 School Theme

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2026

Dear Immanuel Families,

We are excited to celebrate the learning growth of our students by connecting at parent-teacher conferences. This fall conference is REQUIRED for all families at Immanuel and will take place on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 3:40 pm-6:20 pm and Thursday, October 22, 2026 from Noon-6:00 pm. You should have already signed up for a time with your child’s homeroom teacher through our Sycamore student information system at app.sycamoreschool.com using the school code 2565 and your assigned username and password. Any parent wishing to meet with specials teachers, confirmation teachers, or teachers of other subjects should reach out directly to those teachers to schedule a time to meet with them.

There are a few ways you can be prepared to engage in your child’s parent-teacher conference. This article from Child Mind Institute offers great suggestions on how you can engage in conversation at the conference. If there is something important you need to discuss with the teacher, please give them a heads-up ahead of time so they can be prepared for a meaningful discussion.

New this year for 6th-8th grade families, your conference will be led by the student! This means it is required for your child to be with you. Schedule a time with the homeroom teacher on Sycamore. The students will be prepared to walk you through their portfolio and reflection documents. You should expect:

• Your student will lead the conference, which will be facilitated and supported by their teacher.

• You are encouraged to ask your student questions during the conference about their progress, learning, and goals.

• Ask the teacher about your student’s progress, learning, and effort in class.

We look forward to seeing you at conferences and celebrating the students’ successes. Please contact the office if you have any questions about signing up for conferences.

God's blessings,

Mrs. Comfort

Let’s get Immanuel moving! ❤️🖤

Ben Tracy is a nationally recognized keynote speaker on digital citizenship, online safety, and responsible social media use. Since 2018, he has spoken with more than half a million students, parents, and educators across the country about how technology and social media are shaping the lives of today's young people.

Ben is also an accomplished ultrarunner. In 2024, he completed a 3,125-mile transcontinental run across America, running 120 marathons in 125 days to raise awareness about the dangers children face online and honor those lost to social media harms.

His message is both educational and motivational. In his presentations, Ben breaks down what parents and schools need to know about AI, social media, and video games, and he shares clear, proven steps families can take to keep kids safe in the digital world.

Immanuel's Parent Student Association (PSA) is excited to kick off its first fundraiser with locally roasted Colectivo Coffee! Families can purchase delicious coffee and hot cocoa, including our very own Immanuel Son Shine Blend! These make wonderful Christmas gifts while helping support the fun activities and events our PSA provides throughout the school year.

Order forms and additional information will be sent home with students soon. Orders are due October 28.

Calling all middle school artists! Students in grades 6–8 have the opportunity to design the label for our special Immanuel Son Shine Blend! Design forms will also be sent home soon, with submissions due October 21.

Thank you for supporting Immanuel and our PSA!

As fall sports end, that means winter sports are coming up next! Information will be going home at the end of the week with information about basketball and cheer/dance.

*We are currently looking for a head coach and assistant coach for our 5th/6th girls basketball team. Based on team placements we might also be looking for a few additional 7th/8th boys coaches. Please email kjagler@immanuelbrookfield.org if you are interested or have any questions.

**Many 5th-8th grade students are missing their Athletic Permission Form/Physical Examination Form that was sent home at the beginning of the school year during registration. (It was a blue piece of paper) This needs to be turned in and must have a doctor signature. IF you turned it in last year it is good for two years of athletic participation. If you have questions or need additional information you can contact the school office.
