Zion’s School mission is “Teaching Christ and Serving Families.” The school shares Christ by teaching students about Christ and changes lives by serving the school families.

Our vision is that all students will experience God’s love and forgiveness and learn to show that same forgiveness to others. Students will be safe, responsible, and respectful to themselves and others, and achieve academically to the best of their ability.

As Valentine’s Day quickly approaches, we all start to think of LOVE. God is LOVE. Everything He made and everything He does flows from love. When we see love in the world, it’s a reminder that we were made in His image. Love exists among us because it’s part of God’s character. God doesn’t just love us; He is love (1 John 4:16). Love is not just what God does, it’s who He is. It is one thing to be loving. It is infinitely more significant for God’s character to be the source of all love. Love is patient, kind, humble, and eager to serve others (1 Corinthians 13). Because God is love, He is by His nature all these things as well. God cannot be indifferent to what happens to us because it’s not in His nature. We can take comfort in submitting to a God who is love. We can bear any circumstances knowing we walk through them with a God who loves us and wants the best for us.
● How does understanding that God is love affect your ability to have faith in tough times?
● What’s one way you can show God’s love to someone today?
Special Valentine's Sunday Service ~ February 14th
Join us this Sunday for a special time of Worship and Word as Pastor Tim shares about what Love Ain't ! Couples will have a wonderful opportunity for a Renewal of Vows at this Sunday's Valentine Service. We're going to have Photo Ops, Cake Pops, Valentine Kid's Bags, and a whole lot of fun planned for all in attendance! We hope to see you Sunday!!
Lost and Found
Thursday and Friday there will be a table set up near the entry door with jackets that have no name. Please check to see if they belong to your child. This is also a reminder to label everything.
Lunch Box
If you prefer, ECEC students may start bringing lunch boxes each day instead of paper bags. We still do not want backpacks as they cannot be properly washed and disinfected. I know the children love to wear their backpacks, so hopefully, soon we can start back with these.
We want to personally invite all our families to worship here at Zion with us on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. You have two options: come to God’s Playground (elementary playground next to ECEC) to worship in person, socially distanced, of course. The other option is to worship in the comfort of your home through Facebook Live; go to Zion Lutheran Church of Anaheim. We would love for your family to join us.

Love Ain't - Hope and Help for all of Life's Relationships.

Join us this Sunday for a special time of Worship and Word as Pastor Tim shares about what Love Ain't ! This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. ~ 1 John 4:10.
What is love? Countless songs poems, films, and people have asked this age-old question.  Lovers and philosophers have tried to give many answers yet questions still remain. What has led to your questions? Was it an early heartbreak? Was it a complicated situation? Was it the challenge of raising and loving a family?  Is it what you see on the news?  We, and our world, have never been more confused about what love is.  From those closest to us to those we would rather not be around, our relationships need help!   In this series we will find hope and help for all of life’s relationships from the one who is Love, Jesus. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. (John 15:12) So let’s receive it, get clear about it, and share it!
P.S. Our series will conclude on Valentine’s Day, Sunday February 14th with a vow renewal for our couples. So bring your Valentine for Life! - Pastor Tim

We are planning for a Single Sunday Service outside at 9:30 am. Enjoy a beautiful service outdoors located on God's playground in the courtyard area over by the school with plenty of space to spread out for social distancing.

Senior Parking available between the Gym and SAC buildings.

We will have two entrances for people to enter:

  1. The walkthrough gate between the playground and preschool area
  2. The walkthrough gate by the gym.

We encourage you to invite your family and friends, and while wearing your mask, join your brothers and sisters in Christ for a responsible social distance worship experience!

Although we encourage you to join us on God's Playground in the courtyard area, if you are unable to join us in person, we encourage you to watch the Facebook Live streaming of our services at 9:30 AM. Our weekly Zion Buzz newsletter will have a copy of the service bulletin with the words to the liturgy, scriptures, songs, and prayers so that you can join us in lifting your hearts and voices in worship.
Zion serves Communion on the 1st & 3rd Sunday of the month at our in-person service. However, we also remain available to provide “touchless” communion to you at your home. Simply request a kit through the church office or click here to sign up for an @Home Communion Kit.

We are continuing to take reservations (RSVP) for the time being so that we can ensure the health and safety of all who are attending. Let us know you're coming by registering yourself and your family. Please note, that an RSVP is required by all people including children.

RLC Kick Off Sunday, February 21, 2021
The Red Letter Challenge is a 40-Day discipleship challenge.
In the Red Letter Challenge, you will be introduced,
through the words of Jesus, to the five main principles
of being a disciple.

If you are tired of just checking religious boxes,
if you know that you were made for something more,
and if you want to make a greater difference in this world,
the Red Letter Challenge is for you!

This Challenge is for anybody and everybody. Young and old.
Men and women. Church and unchurched. New Christian, life-long Christian,
non-Christian. It's for anybody who's looking for something more in life.
Life is full of challenges.  Many of them life just throws at us and we see how we will fair through them.  2020 for example was full of challenges we didn’t get to choose.  2021 seems to be more of the same.  But there are many other challenges we get to choose – or friends choose for us buy inviting us on social media; the ice bucket challenge, the no sugar challenge, the let a website choose your personality challenge, the math pun challenge, the list goes on and on.  Some are helpful or at lease benefit a good cause – others just waste your time!
But what if you could choose a challenge that would better prepare you for the challenges you don’t get to choose?  The Red Letter Challenge is just that.  It’s a challenge to join our church in READING and DOING the words of Jesus for 40 days. If you know that you were made for something more, if you want to grow closer to Jesus, and if you want to make a greater difference in this world, the Red Letter Challenge is for you!  Even if you still are not sure about Jesus, reading his own words for 40 days is a great way to get to know Him.
You may start down the Red Letter Challenge path, but be warned, along the way Jesus is going to challenge you through His own words to Be, Forgive, Serve, Give, and Go in His Name.  Do you have what it takes to follow Jesus? Let’s find out together in our new series and small groups.
First Communion Information - Last Day to Sign Up is March 5th!
