Dear Samantha,

Maybe you’re already a fan of WMNF’s locally produced podcasts, like Sunday Forum, MidPoint, Talking Animals, or The Skinny.

But did you know that we also offer more than just digital replays of your favorite WMNF shows?

In fact, WMNF has a growing number of local volunteer hosts who are creating podcasts with diverse perspectives on a wide range of topics. We also offer free podcasting resources to nonprofits and individuals in the Tampa Bay community.

LEARN

WMNF amplifies local voices by teaching the art of the podcast

Everyone has a voice, but not everyone knows how to be heard. That’s where WMNF steps in to serve our community.

For example, over six weeks this winter, children from the Wilbert E. Davis Boys & Girls Club of Tampa Bay are learning to work together to produce a podcast of their own design. In a cooperative effort with The Skills Center Collaborative of Tampa, WMNF is teaching these students everything that goes into creating a podcast, like topic selection, storytelling, recording, and editing a finished piece.

When finished, the students’ final production will be aired on Sprouts: Radio from the Grassroots, a radio program featuring local stories produced by grassroots community media and distributed globally by Pacifica Radio.

Stay tuned to WMNF to hear what the kids of Boys & Girls Club Tampa Bay have to say!

LAUNCH

Free podcast training and studio time at WMNF. Just ask us!

WMNF offers free studio time to local nonprofit groups and individuals who want to create a podcast. Psst! We’ll even train people of all ages how to plan, produce, and distribute their own podcasts.

That’s right! If you or your community group are interested in telling local stories through in-depth interviews, documentary series, or news reporting from a local perspective, WMNF can help.

Our WMNF volunteers and staff will work with you to develop your podcast, prepare a script, teach you how to use a soundboard, edit your audio file, and distribute your finished podcast.

Just give us a call at 813-238-8001 or send an email to wmnf@wmnf.org and we’ll get you started!
