As we move into the Next 100 years of community service, placing equity at the center of our work will be a central focus. A big part of that is lifting up the incredible work being done in the community by local nonprofits.
Literacy Together has been serving our community for over 35 years, working to transform lives and communities through the power of literacy. Born out of a merger between Altrusa of Asheville and the Asheville-Buncombe Literacy Council, they hold a vision of a just and equitable community in which literacy is accessible and achievable by all.
A highly valued partner with United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County, Literacy Together provides a wide array of programs - from adult and youth literacy to English for Speakers of Other Languages - that have immense impacts on the lives of students and families.
Most recently, Literacy Together signed on to become a partner in the newly formed United for Youth Network, agreeing to help our community reach a bold shared goal that by 2035 all Asheville and Buncombe County students graduate from High School ready and fully prepared to pursue their goals and dreams.
It is truly an honor to work alongside such a dedicated and innovative partner. Thank you Literacy Together for all you do in support of our community. Click the button below to explore one of Literacy Together's most recent successes.
