On #GivingTuesday, We Honor Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center Horses

Healthy Horses Are Critical to Our Mission

Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center is a community where horses transform the bodies, minds, and spirits of people with disabilities. Healthy horses are critical to the Little Bit mission. Simply stated, no horses, no programs.

During #GivingTuesday, we ask our community, both current and new supporters, to provide hoof care for our horses. Our goal is to raise $34,000, or 60 percent of Little Bit's hoof care expense in 2025. We can reach our goal with your help!

Are you active on Facebook or Instagram? Consider creating a personal fundraiser to support our hoof care efforts and encourage your friends to contribute as well.

A Challenge and a Gift for You

Four Families Work Together to Double the Impact of Your Gift

Your #GivingTuesday gift toward hoof care could be doubled, thanks to generous challenge funding to be provided by James & Judy Rams, George & Kim Suyama, Juliana Tioanda, and Dan Zinsmeyer. Every $1 received will be matched with $1 up to a total of $17,000. Little Bit will only receive the challenge funds if our community makes its gifts*. Thank you to these four families for doubling the impact your gift makes!

*Little Bit has received $5,000 of the $17,000 offered as a challenge, which will be returned to the donor if the challenge is not met.

Hoof Care for the Little Bit Herd

  • Today, Little Bit has 32 horses in our herd.

  • We anticipate spending over $56,800 on hoof care in 2025.

  • Every Little Bit herd member requires hoof care. That care can be either barefoot trimming or trimming and horseshoes.

  • Hoof care is tailored to each herd member's needs, and is scheduled every four to eight weeks, depending on their individual growth pattern.

  • Little Bit works with four different hoof care professionals: one barefoot trimmer and three farriers who work with horseshoes.

Please contact Director of Development Sharon Soldenwagner at sharons@littlebit.org or (425) 882-1554 x117 if you have questions or would like additional information.
