Campfire Storytelling
Workshops
Join Rangers Seth and Lauren for this 2-part workshop on learning the art of campfire storytelling. This is intended for ages 10-14 years of age and must be accompanied by an adult.

Livermore Library &
LARPD Open Space
The Livermore Library and LARPD Open Space teamed up last month for several events, including Creek Story Time, Field Trips to Sycamore Grove, Map & Compass 101, and Nature Nearby at Springtown Library.
This partnership saw approximately 250 participants attend these free programs.

Owl Box Installed at Sycamore Grove Park
|
|
Last week, Ranger Seth led teen volunteers on a project where they built and installed an owl box for Western Screech Owls to use as a habitat! This was part of a summer-long series of projects to enhance and maintain Sycamore Grove Park.
Next time you stroll through the park, see if you can spot it from the trail! Thank you to our fantastic Teen Volunteers for their dedication to Open Space!

Meet Alyssa Smith, Aquatics Coordinator. She began with LARPD on May 31st and came to us from the City of Brentwood.
On why she decided to join LARPD, "I was looking for an opportunity to grow and take on more of a leadership role. It was a great opportunity here, and I couldn't pass it up."

LARPD is hosting Hot Nights Recreation Swim every Friday throughout the summer, from 6 pm to 8 pm, in the activity pool of the Robert Livermore Aquatic Center.
Admission: $6/person

Ravenswood Ice Cream Social
|
|
Join us for the Annual Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social at Ravenswood Historic Site. It will be a fun-filled afternoon with a petting zoo, music from the Pleasanton Community Band, Hot Dogs, History Mobile, Cookies, Docent Tours, and, of course...ICE CREAM!
Admission is free, and all food items are available for purchase.
Event presented by LARPD and the Ravenswood Progress League.

Little League World Series
July 31 - August 7

Livermore Little League Intermediate World Series began last weekend at LARPD's Max Baer Park! The event takes place July 31-August 7. There will be 12 teams participating: 6 US teams and 6 International teams.
Come out and watch the best of the best compete for the championship!

Nomination Period Open for LARPD Board

Three seats on the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District’s Board of Directors, currently occupied by Chair Maryalice Faltings and Directors David Furst and Philip Pierpont, are up for re-election on November 8, 2022.
The three seats to be filled are for four-year terms from December 2022 to December 2026.
