Littman Krooks Celebrated ARC Westchester's 75th Anniversary at the Matter of Taste Gala

The Littman Krooks team extended our heartfelt

congratulations to the ARC of Westchester’s 75th Anniversary at their Matter of Taste Gala this April. It was a tremendous success with over 350 guests in attendance, with a wonderful evening full of fine dining, hope and celebration. We also congratulate the two award recipients, The New York-Presbyterian Hospital of Westchester, The Glucksman Lieber Family, and inspiring pioneer Ann Nehrbauer for their tireless efforts in supporting individuals with special needs.

The Arc Westchester was founded by families, for families, for life. To pay homage to all of these families they have supported over their 75 year history, this year’s event focused on the lived experiences of people with developmental disabilities and their families.

Partner Marion Walsh Presented at NAMI Westchester's College Transition and Mental Health Forum at Pace University

On April 10th, LK Partner Marion Walsh, Esq. presented at NAMI Westchester’s Educational Event:  “College Transition and Your Mental Health Journey: Empower Your Path,” at Pace University in Pleasantville.  By many measures, the  U.S. has a mental health crisis on college campuses, exacerbated by the pandemic and social isolation. According to the Healthy Minds Study in 2022-2023, most college students in the U.S. meet the criteria for at least one mental-health condition.

Marion  explained the changes in legal status that occur as young adults transition to college and recommended essential forms to prepare for this journey for students and their parents.  Marion was joined by a diverse panel, including Max Casmiro, a Pace Residential Director;  Debbie Stromes, a Pace   Counselor;  Marissa Warren, a Yorktown HS Counselor and Rikki Wilhelm, a WCC  alumnus, who all shared their perspectives. Dr. Marjorie Seidenfeld, of EmpowerUny was the keynote speaker. Her mission aims to support students and their families, so that students are empowered to undertake the responsibility of caring for themselves in college.

Thanks to both NAMI Westchester and Pace University for hosting this important event for aspiring college students and their families.
