January…a month for causes:

January is Poverty Awareness Month. Last week we asked you to pray for the poor. See below for the prayer.
January is National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month

o  January 11 is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. There are an estimated 40 million victims of human trafficking and slavery today. We pray for them and for an end to all forms of slavery.
o   On January 11 participate in Wear Blue Day. The Wear Blue Day campaign raises awareness of human trafficking by inviting the public to take photos of themselves, friends, family, and colleagues donning blue clothing to share them on social media, along with the #WearBlueDay hashtag! The Blue Campaign is the Department of Homeland Security’s national anti-trafficking public awareness campaign, designed to educate the public on how to recognize the indicators of human trafficking and safely report it. https://www.dhs.gov/archive/topic/human-trafficking#:~:text=Report%20suspected%20human%20trafficking%20activity,6199%20(non%20toll%20free%20international)
