Hello! Whew! We made it through another pandemic year! As the supply chain is starting to ease up and lead times for some products are shorter, we're starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel! It’s fun to look back on the projects we worked on during the prior year.

In 2021 we had a range of projects from full design to collaborations with architects and interior designers. Nothing brings us more pleasure than completing our client's vision with well appointed custom furnishings and window treatments.This month’s feature article highlights a few of last year's projects, as well as a the design boards for a few soon to be complete projects. You can see the full projects on our website portfolio page. This year we welcome Kaylee Sawall to our design team. Kaylee is a student in the Interior Design program at Anne Arundel Community College. Having worked in various businesses in the design field, she decided it was time to follow her passion. Amy, Sarah and I are excited to work with Kayle and for the fresh perspective she brings to our team! We're looking forward to a fun and rewarding 2022 as we continue doing what we all love to do ...create beautiful rooms that our clients love! Kindest regards, Margaret, Owner

FEATURED PROJECTS 2021

Full Design Project Multiuse Carriage House The owners of this Nantucket style carriage house tasked Sew Beautiful with the challenge of designing versatile, well-appointed and comfortable rooms. This inviting living area serves as a home office, a gathering space and guest bedroom suite. It is complete with a small efficiency kitchen, full bath and sweeping views of the Severn River from the adjacent outdoor deck.

Collaborative Project Bright and Fun Update in Severna Park Bright and fun is the best description of this collaborative project with out-of-state Designer, Meredith Miller. Colorful, distinctive and classic — one can’t help but feel happy after spending time in this combination living/dining room.

Collaborative Project Grand Retreat in Ellicott City Our collaboration with Howard County interior designer, Barb Galgano provided Sew Beautiful the opportunity to dress 56 windows in rooms that each required window coverings with specific needs and functions. Planning for the custom window treatments began early in the building phase, offering opportunities for hard-wired automated shades.  

Design Board From Project in Progress This design board is just a sneak peak of a long awaited vacation home renovation for yours truly. We too have experienced delays (no short cuts even for those in the design business) but we're so pleased with how it is all coming together. I look forward to revealing the before and after in a future newsletter.

Design Board From Project in Progress This dining room refresh is just one of several first floor rooms that are almost complete. New wall coverings, area rugs, window treatments, lighting and art finish this newly constructed home. We're excited to share photos of the completed project ... just one more delivery!
