The Message this Week
Preaching Text: Ezekiel 37:1-14
Can these bones live? If you’ve ever had to do some public speaking and the crowd was less than responsive, imagine the prophet Ezekiel being called to prophesy to a valley of dry bones! The good news is the valley of bones isn’t real… it is a metaphor for the people of God, living in exile. They are very much alive, but just not LIVING in the all the ways God invites them to live. Are we fully living in all the ways God invites us to live? Advent is the right time to ponder this!
Good and gracious God, help us to be present to Your love to us and live fully out of that love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

- Show us the places where we have given up. Give us hope and motivate us to live into your promises.
- Climate change has turned formerly fertile lands to deserts. Spur us to action, that we might change the tragic course we are on.
- Use your people to minister to one another’s needs and to restore a sense of what is possible.
- Inspire the work of healers, caregivers, and all those who work tirelessly to find new treatments and cures for chronic diseases. Hold all with whom they work and all who suffer in your loving arms, especially John Yeo.
- Join us with the saints in never-ending praise to our loving and redeeming Creator.
Steadfast and loving God, gather these prayers we have offered, both aloud and silent, into your loving arms, for we know that you are faithful and will never abandon us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

We also want to know your less common favorites (there was a lot of debate in the church office over cookies!). End of Year Giving
Thanks to all who support the sharing of Christ's love with our community through Geneva Lutheran Church! As you plan your end of year generosity, here are a few reminders:
- Online giving is a great way to give, and giving from a bank account rather than a credit card can help avoid additional bank fees.
- Gifts mailed to the church must be postmarked by December 31, 2025 to be included in 2025 giving statements.
- Stock Donations and Required Minimum Distribution gifts (for those 73 or older) are also a great way to support our ministry. Talk to Lisa Kanzler in our office.

“I’m fine,” I’m okay,” “It’s all good” - this is often what we tell people with a smile on our face, even though it’s the farthest thing from the truth. Sometimes our loudest cries are kept silently beneath the surface, because we don’t want to bother anyone, or we’re afraid no one will understand. A Stephen Minister, with God’s grace and guidance, will listen without judgement, and will walk alongside you and reassure you that your feelings are valid, and that you don’t ever have to sort them out alone.
