Share the Plate:
Knowledge is Power; Share It!
Our September Share the Plate community partner is The Freedom to Read Foundation. FTRF is a non-profit legal and educational organization affiliated with the American Library Association that protects and defends the First Amendment to the Constitution and supports the right of libraries to collect - and individuals to access - information. All designated "share the plate" donations, and half of all undesignated donations, will be given to TFTR for the month of September.

Town Hall This Sunday
Immediately after the worship service, during the Fellowship time on Zoom, we'll be having a town hall to discuss "What is the story we want future members and people in the larger community to tell about Live Oak during the pandemic?" Once we know what we want this story to be, we can make plans for living out that story this next year. Come listen and talk!

How to update your online donation from VANCO to Breeze
Changing your automated pledge contribution to our new church management system makes giving a breeze!
If you've struggled with donating money electronically to Live Oak, this news is for you.

Live Oak is saying goodbye to VANCO's complicated donation screens and adopting Breeze, which will make pledge and other church contributions easier. The assistant treasurers are asking all Live Oak contributors who use automatic contributions through VANCO to transition to Breeze as soon as possible.

How to make the change:
* Go to the VANCO payment page at
* Log in to see your existing automatic transactions.
* Follow the on-screen instructions to delete those transactions.
* Then go to the Breeze online contribution page at
* Go through the (much simpler) steps to set up your new contribution.

To avoid duplicating payments, you may want to cancel the VANCO transaction as soon as it runs one month, and add a reminder to your calendar to set up Breeze the following month.

Give LOUU a "Lift"
LOUU elevator planning is well under way.  If you know of a grant opportunity to help us with the final funding, please fill out this form. The more outside funding we get, the less we need to deplete our reserve funds.
Visit Live Oak's Online Sanctuary
Need a moment to catch your breath, to meditate, to be reminded of your faith values? Our "online sanctuary" is open 24-7. On this page, you'll find videos of music, meditations, and readings to soothe your soul. You can find the sanctuary by going to>Worship-->Online Sanctuary, or simply bookmark this link. New pieces will be added on a regular basis.

Sunday Mornings
On Sunday mornings go to and click on the link for the worship service. That will take you to our Youtube Premiere page. Gathering will begin at 9:45, and the service begins at 10:00 am.
After the service, go back to and click on the link to Fellowship Time. That will take you to a Zoom meeting room where we will gather in breakout rooms for a deeper discussion with a small group of members. (It's a great way to get to know other members.)
What's Happening This Week
Enriching Connections has become an even more vital part of all that we do. We want to make it as easy for you to stay connected as possible. So we encourage you to add something to your morning routine. As you sip your coffee or tea, go to this link:
It will have the most up-to-date information about connection events. Be sure and save the link! We want to enrich connections, but we are also putting safeguards in place so that we can feel safer when we gather in this way. (But if you have a friend who might want to join, feel free to privately send them the link.)
