Unto You a Child is Born (The No Rehearsal Christmas Pageant)
Chris Jarman and Live Oak Unitarian Universalist Church
The Christmas story is rooted in old, old tales of the Winter Solstice. In ancient times in Europe, when the solstice came, distant ancestors sometimes told stories of a miraculous child born to return us to the light. Drawing on our Universalist heritage, we will share an interactive story of hope for all people- of a child born- who would grow up to lead humankind into a time of truth and justice.

Women's Labyrinth Group
Sunday, December 11, 6:30-9pm in the Live Oak Library
Join us for a sharing circle and an in-person walk on the Live Oak UU Labyrinth.
During this time of increasing darkness, we’ll be walking in the dark with lanterns. What do we find or see in the darkness. Are there gifts from the dark? Are there insights? We support each other as we walk the twists and turns of our lives on the path that “calls us from the center of who we are and who we long to be.”
Please bring something for the altar that is meaningful to you and feel free to share a song, poem or short reading. The group is open to women high school age and older. Contact Katherine Enyart for more information.

Congregational Meeting
Important votes THIS Sunday!
Our semiannual Congregational Meeting will be at 11 a.m. Sunday in the sanctuary. We'll review and vote on the 2023 proposed budget and on whether to adopt the 8th Principle.
Those members not able to attend can watch the meeting on live stream and will be able to vote online.

Vote YES for the 8th Principle This Sunday!
WE is a spiritual practice
Vote yes to build a diverse multicultural Beloved Community by our actions that dismantle racism and other oppressions in ourselves and our institutions.”
Did you know that UU Principles were designed to be dynamic, not a fixed creed? It means we want to always continue to be educating ourselves, exploring truth, and raising our consciousness. When we get to a new level of understanding and clarity, our structure makes it possible to reflect that. UU is the only religion that intentionally builds in that flexibility to acknowledge the importance of ongoing revealed truth.
The 8th Principle is the beginning of action. Together, let’s make our actions match our values.

HELP DISTRIBUTE FOOD TO OUR NEIGHBORS
Live Oak Church will be distributing food to our neighbors at Fresh Food for All and need volunteers to help.
This month, on Friday, December 16th, Fresh Food For All participants will be able to select their own produce (Farmer's Market style), instead of having the prepackaged produce placed in their car trunks. We will need to help fill bags, direct traffic, weigh the food, and help people carry food to their cars. If you can help anytime on December 16th between 8:30 and 11AM.
