Share the Plate:
May's Share the Plate is going to UBarU, a Unitarian Universalist Camp
Retreat Center in the Hill Country near Kerrville, Texas.  Their mission is
to provide a welcoming, peaceful place to gather for spiritual, educa-tional, and recreational purposes in harmony with our Unitarian Universalist principles and the land.
Love Notes Recipient for May - Carrot Express Drivers
Every month, we recognize a group for all that they do and bring to the church.  For the month of May, we are recognizing the folks that volunteered to deliver Easter goodies to our kiddos.  Please write a love note to share what this meant to you and your family. Send those love notes to:

Special Notices
Zoom Update
The folks at Zoom have been hard at work to make Zoom more secure.  They have released an update that includes some security measures.  After 5/30, this update will happen automatically the first time you join a meeting.  It may take a few minutes, so you should plan to join a little early.  It is an option to do it ahead of time.  When you login, you'll see this:
Click on "now" and follow the instructions.
Touch Group for Grown-Ups
We're taking the Touch Group idea from our Unitarian Universalist youth and putting an adult twist on it. At youth rallies, touch groups give the youth an opportunity for deeper sharing with a small group of friends. We may not be kids anymore, but we still need opportunities for deeper sharing too. If this is something you want to try, please register for the next time we get together.
We meet online for 1 1/2 hours on the third Monday at 3:00 p.m. Our next meeting is  Monday, May 18.
Please register in advance for this meeting.  After you register, you will receive a confirmation with the information about how to join the group.
If you have questions, please contact me, Betty Skwarek, at or call me at 512-994-8748. And please don't get confused if your invitation says "Helen Skwarek."  That's my formal name.
I hope you can join us this month,
Buildings and Ground Meeting
The Buildings and Grounds Team meeting is scheduled for 7pm Monday, May 11th. Please attend via zoom.  The meeting link is on the What's Happening page.
Live Oak Church will be distributing food to our neighbors at Fresh Food Friday next week and need volunteers to help with two activities. Please note: Hill Country Community Ministries will use the same process as last month to protect both clients and volunteers.

* Thursday, May 14th @ 1:00 p.m. to approximately 2:30 p.m. food needs to be separated into smaller quantities for distribution. Meet at Hill Country Community Ministries, 1005 Lacy Dr, Leander, TX 78641
* Friday, May 15th @ 8:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. in the Live Oak parking lot. This is when we distribute the food to our neighbors. Volunteers are needed to set up, direct people to the drive through area, collect client information, and place food in client's trunk. You do not need to remain the entire 2 & 1/2 hours.

HCCM has asked for 7 people for each activity. We are asking you to please let us know if you will be able to participate in either activity, so we know if we have enough or too many people.

Any questions please contact Donna Durbin at:

Monday Meditation
Come as you are...
Let's try something new, and let me (Carrie) be honest, it's for me as much as for you! I'm having trouble keeping my spiritual practice going and wondered if you might help me. Starting next week, I'll be zooming early on Monday mornings - 7:00 - 7:30 AM - to meditate and set my intention for the week. I invite you to join me. I have a sitting meditation, but if you prefer to walk, just grab your phone and join me. I'll experiment with a variety of guided and breathing meditations, too. If you have a practice you would like to share, let me know.
We will start with a brief check-in, followed by a 5-10 minute meditation. Finally, we will end our time together by setting an intention for the week (whatever that looks like for you). I hope you consider dropping in. Link will be posted on the What's Happening page.
See you on Monday!
Tuesday Night Deep Dive
This regular 7:00pm Tuesday evening Zoom Deep Dive with Kiya is for those who need a deeper check-in and a supportive place to process.  The link can be found on the What's Happening This Week page.

We encourage you to connect with Zoom in various ways.
If you are planning a Zoom gathering for Live Oak members on your own Zoom account, please provide Diane with the date, time, link and title of the meeting. She will add it to the What's Happening page.
If you need a zoom meeting scheduled on the Live Oak account, send a request to Diane, and she will help you schedule it and provide the link.
What's Happening This Week
Enriching Connections has become an even more vital part of all that we do. We want to make it as easy for you to stay connected as possible. So we encourage you to add something to your morning routine. As you sip your coffee or tea, go to this link:
It will have the most up-to-date information about connection events. Be sure and save the link! We want to enrich connections, but we are also putting safeguards in place so that we can feel safer when we gather in this way. (But if you have a friend who might want to join, feel free to privately send them the link.)
