Birthday Announcements

October and November Birthdays

We wish a very happy birthday to our champs born in October and November!

Unfortunately, we were unable to display birthday shout-outs this month due to issues with the school's marquee. Until the school works on fixing it, PTA will showcase all birthdays in its newsletter.

*You would be able to see birthdays displayed on the marquee (or in PTA newsletter) if you made a request during registration. No new requests are being accepted by the school at this time.

Recent Events

Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week was a fantastic reminder for our students to embrace "Healthy Choices." Throughout the week, students had the chance to dress up and show their commitment to these positive habits.

On Wednesday, seven classes achieved 100% participation in Spirit Wear: Ms. Putvin, Mrs. Gee, Mrs. Kim, Ms. Allender, Mrs. Wright, Mrs. Lopez, and Mrs. Freels. To break the tie, we looked at participation across the rest of the week, and with an impressive average of 99.5%, Mrs. Freels’s class proudly claimed the trophy. Congratulations to all!

Truck and Treat

We had our third annual Trunk or Treat event at Live Oak last Friday, October 25th. A huge thanks to all of the families who decorated their car trunks: Chi Shui, leila Hareb, Srilakshmi Maram, Lynnette Gomez, Elizabeth Nguyen, Dmitry Labutin, Russhel Sysum, Mariam Sherdil, Kiran Hansrai, Lindsay Alcantra, Tariq Hussain, Therese Kathka and Janyce Spencer. It was a spooktacular event! Thank you to all of the families who also donated candies, donated non-candy items and to our amazing volunteers. We couldn’t have this event without all of you!

Many thanks to Janyce Spencer for chairing the event and our NHS school volunteers for helping us run the event.

We also want to take a moment to thank our generous sponsors: Mariam Sherdil and Code Ninjas!

Halloween Happenings

Many thanks to our room parents and Halloween party volunteers! We hope your students had a wonderful time at their class celebrations and getting to pick their pumpkins from the PTA's pumpkin patch.

Know your Volunteers

Introducing our chairs for all the fall festivities that our live oak community enjoyed.

Janyce introduced Trunk or Treat in Live Oak a couple of years ago and has been instrumental in running it successfully for 3 years in a row. We will miss her as her children move on to middle school next year.

Cary helped coordinate the pumpkin patch that the kids lovingly picked their favorite pumpkins from.

Once again, thank you volunteers for all that you do for our school!
