Important Dates

Scripps Spelling Bee Announcement

Week of January 7-10: 3rd-5th Grade classrooms will kick off the Scripps Spelling Bee with an introduction to the program.

Week of January 13-17: Classroom Bees will take place during this week. The competition will consist of two parts: a written portion to identify the top 25% of students who will advance to the classroom Oral Spelling Bee. From each class, one representative will be selected to participate in the School Bee.

Tuesday, January 21: The top 10 spellers will compete in the early rounds of the School Bee.

Friday, January 24: The top 5 spellers will advance to the final rounds of the School Bee, which will be conducted as an assembly for 3rd-5th graders. Parents of the top 5 participants are warmly invited to attend.

The top 3 spellers from Live Oak will earn the opportunity to advance to the Regional Competition starting in February.

Stargazing night, Jan 22 at 6pm
