Student Council Updates

Our annual Food Drive ends on Friday! We have collected quite a bit, but still have empty barrels to fill. THANKS for your generous donations!

Upcoming Special Spirit Wear Days:

December 17: Culture Day
January 28: Pajama Day
February 25: Inside Out/Backwards
March 25:Twin Day

We will not have a December meeting, but will join together for an activity! Third-Fifth grade Student Council members are invited to make cards for seniors on December 10. We will meet in the library at lunch time, and craft! They may bring a friend or two, as we work to bring others a bit of joy this holiday season!

PTA Updates

Seeking a volunteer to shadow the Communications Chair

Hello Families,

I’m Shyamala, the current Communications Lead for the Live Oak PTA, and I’m looking for a volunteer to shadow me over the next six months, with the opportunity to step into the role starting August 2026.

This is an essential position for our school community and a wonderful opportunity for personal and professional growth.

The role includes:

Updating the PTA calendar and website
Curating and sending out our biweekly newsletters
Helping keep families informed, connected, and engaged

Shadowing now will give you ample time to learn the systems, tools, and workflow at a comfortable pace, ensuring you feel confident and fully prepared when you take on the role.

If you enjoy organization or design - or are simply eager to get more involved, we would love to have you join us. Full training and support will be provided every step of the way.

Open PTA Positions

We are looking to fill the following positions

* VP of Programs. This role is very fun, dynamic and perfect for someone who loves to plan events. The VP of Programs would work with committee and other Chairs to plan and organize programs for the school year.

Holiday season is here and the Live Oak PTA is planning a Holiday Luncheon for our wonderful teachers and staff of Live Oak in December (exact date TBD).

Like previous years, this year too, we plan to get the food catered from one of their favorite restaurants. To help us make these arrangements we ask you to kindly make a small donation in place of bringing a hot meal or food item. We are hoping to reach our goal of $2000 for approximately 100 staff members by 12/10/2025.

This Friday, November 21, will be our last Froyo Friday of this semester. So, let’s make it a great one! Bring your cash and get ready for a delicious treat. It has been great to celebrate Froyo Fridays with Menchies this semester. Menchies contributes a percentage of all sales to our Live Oak PTA. So, while your kids and you have enjoyed delicious frozen yogurt, you have also been contributing to our PTA events and programs. Thank you to our families for all those contributions and thank you to the Menchies team for their faithful partnership and sponsorship!

Community Dine out

Nagoya Sushi in San Ramon is hosting a fundraiser for Live Oak PTA on Wednesday, December 3rd and Thursday, December 4th. When you eat at Nagoya on these days, 20% of your bill will be donated to Live Oak PTA. You can show this flyer to restaurant staff. Enjoy a great meal while you contribute to our events and programs!

Vintage spirit wear is now ON SALE!

Take a look at our online catalog on the Live Oak website to know whats in stock. All spirit wear listed are NEW and unused! This time, we also have some extra/left over spirit wear thats listed for sale on the website.

Choose the design and size and write to Spiritwear@liveoakpta.net with the details.
After we confirm the order via email, we will let you know when your order is ready to be picked up.
You can make a payment via cash in an envelope with your name on it OR write a check addressed to Live Oak PTA and drop it off with the office admin. The office admin will then handover your package to you.

Sister School Toy Drive

Donations will benefit students at our sister school, Michelle Obama Elementary School.

Donate a new and unwrapped toy (value $15-20). No nerf guns or toys resembling weapons of any kind.
Drop off donations to the bin in the front office at Live Oak until December 2nd.

* Sister School Program is a philanthropic program that benefits Live Oak students by fostering civic responsibility, enhancing community engagement, promoting volunteerism, and by teaching the joy of helping others.

Yearbook

Work has begun on creating the 2025-2026 Yearbook, If you need to order a book you can directly from Treering, You can also start adding pictures in the folders and creating your FREE custom pages, instructions can be found here https://www.liveoakpta.net/fundraiser/yearbook

Event Highlights from the last few weeks

Family Movie Night

Thanks to volunteers from Cub Scout Pack 997 last week’s Bad Guys 2 movie night was a great success. We had great food truck options, a full house with more than 200 attendees and lots of freshly popped popcorn!

Thank you to all volunteers who helped out with the event planning - Therese Kathka, Shyamala Jayaraman, Jeanna Aydelotte, Tori Dombroski, Brian Gee and of course the wonderful scouts from pack 997 for the set up, popcorn and clean up.

Thank you to Dilli 6, Cosina Azul and Menchies for providing delicious food and beverages - and donating over $160 from their sales to our PTA! Every purchase that families made on Movie Night brought more funds in to our PTA. We appreciate all of these contributions from our families.
