Message from Live Oak Ed Fund

Welcome families to the 2025-26 school year! If you haven’t donated to the Ed Fund we are still in need of your support! If you give the recommended full ask your student(s) will receive free sprit wear. Write checks to “LOEF” and you can hand them to your student’s teacher or at the front office. Checks are preferred but if you would like to give online you can do so at https://loes.srvusd.net/Families/Education-Fund/index.html

Also remember to take your donation further with corporate matching funds with your employer. Please use EIN: 14-2001348 for Live Oak Education Fund. If you have any questions you can reach out to Danny Bae at liveoak.edfund@srvef.org

Student Council Updates

Hawaii Day was today, and you can see that summer is still going strong at Live Oak, as well as the learning! 🌺🌴🏖️

Student Council elections are September 5, and the application process has begun. Mrs. Freels spoke to the 4th and 5th grade classes last week. All information is available on the Leadership website. When the Student Council meets, we will decide the next special spirit day and let you know! Don’t forget, EVERY Wednesday is Spirit Day! Maroon/Red/Gold/Yellow all count, in addition to Live Oak spirit wear of any color! Go Golden Eagles!

Safety Patrol: Thanks, parents, for listening to and respecting our student leaders on duty! They are there to ensure the safety of all of our Golden Eagles and their families

PTA Updates

Menchies Fundraiser

This Friday, August 29th, will be our first Froyo Friday of the year. After school, our friends from Menchies will be on the blacktop to sell their delicious frozen yogurt. Each cup is $5 (if you pay with cash) and 20% of the proceeds will be donated. So bring your cash and enjoy a cold treat to start the weekend!

Fall Run Club - Starts on Wed, Sep 10th

Lace up your sneakers and join us for the Fall Run Club, starting September 10, 2025, and running every Wednesday from 7:25 to 7:45 AM at Tiffany Roberts Sports Park.

All students from every grade are welcome—whether you’ve been part of previous Run Clubs or are joining for the first time. Keep earning and proudly displaying your charms for each milestone reached—fun, motivation, and achievements all in one!

Parents Welcome! Parents who would like to join or volunteer are encouraged to help make each session exciting and supportive for all our runners.

Goldie's Birthday Celebrations

Today we celebrated our Mascot "Goldie" turning 18 🎉! The kids had a blast celebrating by singing "Happy Bday" and giving Goldie high-fives before class on Wednesday morning.

SRVUSD Newsflash: Important Updates for Volunteer Clearance Process and Background Check Fees for 2025-26

We are sharing important updates regarding the SRVUSD volunteer clearance process for the 2025-26 school year, specifically related to background checks, online training requirements, and associated fees. SRVUSD continues to partner with Be A Mentor (BAM) to manage volunteer clearance. This message is being shared with all current parents and caregivers, regardless of previous or current clearance status.

Destination Imagination® (DI) General Info Session

Open to All SRVUSD Students (TK-12).

Two Dates Available!

Gale Ranch MS, MPR - August 28, 2025 @7pm (TK-12)

Dougherty Valley HS, Commons - September 10, 2025 @7pm (TK-12)

Destination Imagination® (DI) is an outside-of-school, project-based educational program that inspires and equips students to become the next generation of innovators and leaders. Teams in our program improve in creative thinking, critical thinking and collaborative problem solving. Our participants experience the creative process, develop new friendships and learn to work together.

All SRVUSD Students are invited to attend. Please join us for this Info Session to learn more on how to get started for the 2025-2026 season. Bring your student as teams may be formed during the meeting.
