Live Oak Trunk or Treat

Friday, Oct 27, 2023

  • 5:30-6:30pm for Younger Preschool/TK Families
  • 6:30-7:30pm for K-5th Grade Families

We are excited to bring back Trunk or Treat this year after last year’s spooktacular success. As part of the Trunk or Treat event, volunteers are needed to decorate their car trunk and distribute candies/goodies to the kids who stop by your car. Candies/goodies will be provided by Live Oak PTA or donated to Live Oak by their families.

Host a Trunk

To make our event even sweeter, please donate a bag of candy (no nuts) by Friday, October 20th. Candy may be dropped off at the front office or bins located on the blacktop. Please ensure that the candies are in a sealed bag so that we can check its expiration date prior to the distribution at the event. No loose or expired candies, please!

Thank you to the sponsor of our 2nd Annual Trunk or Treat event: Eye Level Learning Center.

If you are interested in being a sponsor for the event, please reach out to Sapna here.

If you have any questions regarding the event, please reach out to us at [email protected]

Cardboard Challenge - Oct 25

Signups Due - Oct 6

Final Project Due - Oct 25

The Cardboard Challenge is an annual event that celebrates creativity, critical thinking, and manipulation. Your child's job is to build a game that they can play with others entirely out of cardboard!

This year our theme is Superheroes, where students are encouraged to decorate their cardboard game or activity to represent some of their favorite superheroes or superhero abilities. This could mean decorating with comic words like "Ka-pow" or "Bam" or decorating your game with your favorite superhero's logo.

Students are required to bring their creations to school on Oct 25th morning and will celebrate and enjoy all cardboard creations from 12:50 - 1:30 PM that day. They will set up their creations in the MPR and spend 30 minutes playing and interacting with each other's games!

Class Directory Request

Room parents have been busy working on class directories. A class directory allows families to directly communicate with one another for things like birthday party invitations and playdates. Room parents use the class directory to contact you about classroom specific and school wide events.

Please help your room parent volunteers by providing them with your preferred contact information as soon as possible. Contact [email protected] or your room parent volunteers with questions. Thank you for your time and cooperation.

Fall Book Club

First Book club meet is on Tuesday, Oct 10 at 7am in the MPR. The books were distributed to the kids last week. Thank you to all parent volunteers who signed up to help lead the discussions.

Run Club

Come join us! As always, no need to sign up, just show up and run/walk/jog! It is not a drop off activity and parents need to be present during the event.

Upcoming Run club meets - Oct 11 , Oct 18 and Oct 25 Learn More
