Special Thanks to all who made Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week truly memorable and heartfelt! 💖 🫰

Thank you to our amazing Live Oak families for making Teacher Appreciation Week a huge success! We are truly grateful for your generous donations and volunteers (Suchita, Soumya⁩, Sindhya⁩ and family, Shawn K.⁩, Priyanka, and Ms.Lopez's family!) we treated our teachers to an unforgettable week.

They felt loved and appreciated. It wouldn't have been possible without the Live Oak community. Our administrators and teachers work tirelessly, so gathering to celebrate them meant the world.

May Resolutions and Resources

Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

San Ramon Valley Unified School District recognizes the month of May as Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. California is home to over 600,000 students of Asian and Pacific Islander descent and they reflect the great diversity of culture and heritage of their many countries. SRVUSD’s Board of Education recognizes the need for all students to develop pride in their own identity and heritage as well as understand, respect, and accept the identity and heritage of others.

Jewish American Heritage Month

San Ramon Valley Unified School District recognizes the month of May as Jewish American Heritage Month. Members of Jewish communities have sustained strong cultural identities and traditions despite persecution, anti-Semitism, forced segregation, and the horrors of the Holocaust. Jews have contributed to the culture and progress of the United States as scientists, teachers, entrepreneurs, members of the Armed Forces, public servants, and citizens in all walks of life. We recognize and must remember that anti-Semitism continues to be a concern in this nation and across the globe, and we acknowledge the need to continue in our efforts at understanding and inclusion.

In Support of Heroes Month

San Ramon Valley Unified School District recognizes the month of May as Heroes Month. Police officers, firefighters, military personnel, and medical professionals dedicate their lives to serving our communities and nation. In recognizing their selfless contributions, the Board of Education encourages students to learn about and explore careers in these essential service fields. Many students have family members in these professions, making this a meaningful opportunity to deepen understanding and appreciation. SRVUSD will intentionally commit to promoting respect and awareness for service professions, aligning classroom learning with career exploration, and providing students with robust opportunities through our new College & Career Readiness (CCR) platform to explore pathways in law enforcement, firefighting, healthcare, and the military.

Mental Health Awareness Month

San Ramon Valley Unified School District recognizes the month of May as Mental Health Awareness Month. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reports that 13-20% of youth ages 13-18 have a diagnosed mental health disorder in the United States. With the rise in stress, fear, uncertainty, and suicidal thoughts, addressing the mental health needs of children, youth, and families is critical. The Board of Education commits that SRVUSD will intentionally commit to: Increasing awareness and understanding of mental health for our entire educational community; helping our children, youth and adults be aware of the steps they can take to protect their mental health; and providing appropriate and accessible services for all people, especially children and youth with mental health conditions.

Classified School Employee Week: May 10-16

San Ramon Valley Unified School District recognizes the week of May 10-16, 2026 as Classified School Employee Week. Classified employees serve a vital role in creating strong, effective schools and district offices. Classified employees support students in the classroom, perform vital clerical, office, and technology functions, prepare and serve student meals, perform custodial, maintenance, and grounds services, serve as bus drivers and crossing guards, and administer other essential services that ensure that our students, campuses, and offices run smoothly and effectively. The SRVUSD Board of Education supports the celebration of Classified School Employee Week and recognizes the outstanding contributions provided by the district’s classified employees.
