Transgender Education Network of Texas is an organization dedicated to furthering gender diverse equality in Texas. We work to accomplish this through education and networking in both public and private forums. Through our efforts we strive to halt discrimination through social, legislative, and corporate education.
Love Notes
Every month, there will be a different group at Live Oak featured in our "Love Notes" appreciation program. You're encouraged to grab one of those pink sheets and let the group know how much you appreciate what they contribute to Live Oak life.  June love notes will be for our Faith Development program.  please be sure to stop by the Love Notes box and show your love!

Congregants Choose the Hymns on Sunday
Your musical wish is our command!
This Sunday's service plan is one of my favorites. It's our annual Question Box service. The sermon will consist of spontaneous answers by Rev Joanna, in response to questions posed by YOU. In a similar way, all hymns or songs will come from suggestions that YOU make. Write them on a slip of paper and drop them in the blue vase (with Michael Van Slyke's "Treble Chalice" on it), which is sitting in the Narthex. I have placed our two hymnals on the table next to it for reference. Please write both the title and the hymn number on the paper. That way I don't have to look it up in the index while on stage, wasting precious question time! It will be OK to include songs we sing frequently that are NOT in the hymnals, as long as we have the lyrics already on our screen program. The vase will be there until just before the service so you may drop in your choices at any time until then. I am eager to see what your favorites are!

Finance Team Meeting
The Finance Team will be meeting on June 19th at 6:00pm in Room 106.  Everyone interested in the finances of the church is welcome.
Live Oak Church will be distributing food to our neighbors. Please volunteer to help with the following tasks:
* Thursday, June 20th @ 1:00 p.m. to approximately 2:30 p.m. food needs to be separated into smaller quantities for distribution. Meet at Hill Country Community Ministries, 1005 Lacy Dr, Leander, TX 78641
* Friday, June 21st @ 8:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. in the Live Oak parking lot. This is when we distribute the food to our neighbors. Volunteers are needed to set up and take down the tables, help with the selection of food, and help carry food to our neighbors cars. You do not need to remain the entire 2 & 1/2 hours. Your help is appreciated!
This partnership with Hill Country Community Ministries is the church's "signature project". It is our opportunity to live our Mission of ENRICHING CONNECTIONS with our neighbors in need. Any questions please contact Donna Durbin at: HCCM@liveoakuu.org
Policy Committee Meeting
The Board of Trustees will be having a regular business meeting on Tuesday, June 25 at 6:30 PM in the Narthex. The meeting is open to all members of the congregation.
Sack Lunch with the Minister
Sack Lunch with the Minister will be on hiatus for the summer. See you again in mid-August!
Join the Seniors for Coffee
The seniors gather in the Narthex for coffee and a delicious treat at 10:30 Thursday, June 20th. If you have questions, talk to Rev. Joanna.
Due to several members traveling we will cancel our June meeting. We will get together on July 17. Our text still is THE SIXTH EXTINCTION, AN UNNATURAL HISTORY by Elizabeth Kolbert. This is a most interesting story. Hella has a copy to lend if you have trouble finding the book.
Take a Hike Around the Building
Sunday morning take a few minutes and walk around the building. You will notice that all the doors, downspouts, and trim have been painted, the steeple has a fresh coat of white paint, mildew has been power washed off the brick wall, and there is a new Rainbow flag!
Fresh Coat of North Austin has completed their work on the building exterior. Saturday morning, Ray & Becky McPherson, Richard Johnson, Sue Buckley, and I trimmed the bushes! The garden, that is maintained by Hella Holoubek and the Green Team is in bloom. We can all take pride in how nice our Live Oak church looks.

Buildings & Grounds Team Met on Monday
The B&G Team met and the meeting could be summarized as balancing the books, reviewing projects, seeking new team leadership, and evaluating goals set 3 1/2 years ago. For more details please review the meeting minutes. I wish to express my appreciation to the congregation for the financial and physical support we have received as the B&G Team tackled many projects in these past few years.

Engagement Survey
Please take 3 minutes before June 30th to take Live Oak's first annual engagement survey to measure how connected we are with each other over time and update directory information.
Faith Development
Here's what you need to know this week!
Our summer programming continues this Sunday at 11 AM. Adults will not meet this week because of the sermon content. Please enjoy your coffee and conversation in the Fellowship Hall.

Children and youth are exploring cultural cuisine throughout the summer using the curriculum  Books and Cooks. Each week they will engage with food from another culture through a story and cooking a dish together. There will be optional games and art activities to fill time as needed. The class will meet in Room 205 for the summer, and children 5th grade and under should be signed out by a family member by noon. Older youth (middle school and up) are encouraged to sign up to help lead a session, or just come and help with the cooking and storytime.

Since it is a food-based curriculum, each week when you sign your child in at the table in the Fellowship Hall you will find a list of the ingredients for the day so that you can let the teachers know if there is something your child should not have. We will make sure that our dishes are gluten-free, nut-free, and dairy-free as much as possible to avoid common allergens.  Please check each week!

If you are interested in helping over the summer, there are still slots available for teachers. Please see the sign-up in the Narthex or go to  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/508084aa5a62aa7fe3-books.
