Lawn & Garden equipment - Going Electric

Stay on top of your garden maintenance with electric appliances. I recently purchased this beast of an electric weed whacker with a 56 volt battery, which does wonders. My other purchase was an electric pole saw, which enables easier pruning of trees. These electric appliances avoid using fossil fuels, have no fumes, and are quieter and energy efficient.

Feeling anxious about the climate?
I recently heard the author Sarah Jaquette Ray talk about her book, “Field Guide to Climate Anxiety - How to Keep Your Cool on a Warming Planet.” 

While it’s written for Gen Z as Sarah was inspired by her teaching experience with undergrads, I think it’s also relevant to Gen X and Baby Boomers for some unlearning and new perspectives.

Whatever age you are, cultivating emotional intelligence and tapping into different mindsets can help us take better care of ourselves and the land, air, water, plants, and other animals around us.
Think Twice Before Spraying

Less than 2% of insects are considered pests. By spraying an insecticide, you could accidentally kill the natural enemies that keep pests in check, or an insect that is the main food source of our beautiful songbirds.This is one of seven reasons to stop using pesticides at home - a Xerces publication. Another reason is to avoid unintended consequences. Remember Rachel Carson. Pesticides drift, accumulate, and end up in places which harm much more than what was originally intended over time.
