My bud Nick Lindner is stepping up the game. 🥵🎥🔴
He's dialed-in a way to livestream on his YouTube channel with his MarCum Pursuit HDL underwater camera (picture-in-picture style) while doing a Q&A and chatting with fans. 👏👏👏 It's seriously SO sick. Tho it's making it extremely difficult to wrap-up today's Target Walleye when every time I look at the second monitor, Nick's got all of this going on:
Keep killing it, buddy! 💯 Oh, and bonus points for the 'stache.
This dude put a huge flat-screen TV in his hub shack.
Click here or on the screenshot below to check his full video. I was already really digging it...but loving it even more after seeing the date it was filmed. ❤️

We've already got "Fishmas" (for Christmas) but is there a fishy name for Valentine's Day yet? Fishentines?? Valenslimes??? 🤔 You tell me hahaha.
I've also gotta shout-out those MarCum Pursuit HDL underwater cameras – things are absolutely incredible. I've been running one for a couple seasons now and have been super impressed. Here's a few things that stick out to me:
> Compact 5" unit that is imo the perfect size. Any bigger and you never want to tote it around with you...any smaller and it's too hard to see/use.
> Also digging the fact you don't need any external gadgets to record HD footage – just plop a micro SD card in it, press 1 button, and whammy.
> And no idea how MarCum fit over 2 MILLION pixels into this bad boy, but I'm not complaining! Stuffed a full HD image sensor (1920X1080p) into a compact 5" unit = insanely clear video.
Whole bunch of other features and design qualities that you can tell are designed by folks who spend a ton of time on the water. If you're in the market for an underwater camera, I 10/10 recommend checking one out:

Speaking of Valentine's Day....
Your newsfeed has probably been cluttered with more sappy-love posts than fish pics lately (thx a lot Valentine's Day!) so here's a little something(s) to switch it up....
1. Move over, Hallmark, Berkley is comin' in hot! 🔥
> "Forgot about your special someone again on Valentine's Day? And they found your tackle receipts?? Don't worry, send your valentine one of our specially designed cards, and we can (almost) guarantee that all will be forgiven."
2. This straight-up DIALED Valentine's box was posted a couple years back by Stephen Kolobakken. 👏👏👏 Great job, Akira!
3. Flawless pic on Simm's Insta – apparently @jasonsching is the sockeye salmon whisperer 🧙♂️ somehow getting these critter to cooperate in Bristol Bay, AK:
4. Nevis, MN 3rd-grader Eli Boushee created this one-of-a-kind box to hold his Valentines! Posted by Vexilar on Insta:
Love it, Eli!
And in case your brain works like mine (scary, right?):
> Comment from @d0wnbyth3riv3r: "That's pretty awesome! Got to admit at first glance, without reading the caption, I thought someone left their Vex way too close to a heater."
The best (almost) save ever!!!
Impressive effort! Almost made it:
New Off Shore Tackle tip-ups? 🤣
The planer board guys/gals would know that this does NOT mean a bite:
It'd be pretty weird hearing folks yell "flag's down!" while on a dead sprint lol.
1. Sneaky peak at the Rapala Jigging Shadow Rap.
I don't know a whole lot about it – believe it's a Canadian release only right now – but sounds like it's designed for ice fishing, and has a slower darting action + is lighter than the original Jigging Rap:
> ...broader silhouette, modern internal metallic finishes and belly-flashing action are ideal for targeting large wary fish....
Could see there being some slick, open-water walleye applications for these too....
Out of Red Door Resort on the north end. There are some absolute giants in "The Big Pond" so can't wait to see the fish that come in. More info here.
Apparently burbot like those PK Rattle Spoons so much that they'll eat it twice, even after getting broke off:
With a belly like that, that burbot would probably eat again right after letting it go hahaha.
Btw I know that hook placement looks almost too perfect to the point some folks will claim the photo was staged...but it's not. The fellas at Amped Up Angling got the whole thing on video from their overnight fishing trip on SK's Lake Diefenbaker. 👊
> ...reported an all-time record year for 2021. ...the Finnish company's net sales for the year increased by 13%...with operating profit up 200%.
...as the new vp of global operations and supply chain.
You already know they make a ton rods/reels, but did you know 13 Fishing has softbaits designed specifically for ice fishing?
> "...that are 10x tougher and last longer than the competition. ...infused with 13 Fishing's 'Donkey Sauce,' a proprietary formulation of amino acids and proteins that stimulate feeding and aggression in predatory game fish.

Called Decathlon – I honestly hadn't heard of them before.
> ...a real demand for products at affordable prices,...and that a mobile, cashless checkout system would prove popular with customers. That strategy has clearly failed....
> ...closed its 2 shops in San Francisco 4 years after they opened.

What's 🔥 on Target Walleye's YouTube 🎥
Do you use your split-shot as a pivot point to adjust how far the minnow is able to swim away from center? Or how about adjusting how/where you hook a minnow to change how much "action" it's giving off??
Here's a few rattle-reel tricks I use to get those fussy buggers to go this time of year:
One of my favorite things about burbot fishing:
The bite lines up with workin'-folks' hours.... Can eat dinner with the family, put the kiddo to bed, and still be out in time for what's typically the best bite.
One of my least favorite things about burbot fishing:

Been there, continue to do that. Lol #priorities

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE ice fishing 👀 but how amazing does this look right about now? Shot from Lund Boat's FB page. #ShoreLunch

Brett McComas is the main man for Target Walleye He was discovered in Brainerd, MN after years of wondering how in the heck people break into the fishing biz. He's in it now, but still can't answer that question.... Brett is one of those guys who majored in marketing, only because there was no such thing as a "fishing degree" at the time....
