Credentialing bill strongly supported by CMS and CMGMA passes legislature
Senate Bill 21-126, which will streamline the credentialing process for physicians by setting 60-day timelines and requiring communications between the plans and applicants throughout the credentialing process, has passed the Colorado House of Representatives and Senate, and now awaits the governor's signature into law.

A collaborative effort by CMS, the Colorado Medical Group Management Association, and Colorado Association of Health Plans, the bill is the result of two years of negotiations.

Information for current and prospective COVID-19 vaccinators
The Colorado Medical Society joins the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment in encouraging primary care physician practices to become COVID-19 vaccinators. Providers who can administer vaccines must enroll with CDPHE. Colorado Medical Society staff can support you through this project. Email membership@cms.org for assistance.

New: The Biden administration announced June 9 that the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will pay an increased rate for physicians to administer COVID-19 vaccinations at the home of access-challenged or homebound patients. Details here.
Reminder: The Department of Health Care Policy & Financing increased its reimbursement rate for administering COVID-19 vaccines.
