Thank you to Everyone Who Made the

189th Annual Convention a Joyous Success!

Convention Video: Truth

From our engaged delegates and clergy to our thoughtful guest panelists and gracious hosts at Episcopal, this year’s Annual Convention was a meaningful success. Thank you to everyone who brought their voices, perspectives and energy to our time together.

A special thank you to the Very Rev. Christopher Epperson for sharing his knowledge, curiosity, and presence with us.

Photos and a fuller Convention recap will be available soon.

In the meantime, we invite you to watch this year’s Convention video, which highlights the many ways truth is being told and lived out across our diocese.

We also encourage you to watch Bishop Duckworth’s Convention address, in which she offers a thoughtful look at where we are as a diocese, where we hope to go and the faithful work that will help carry us forward.

Reflections on Diocesan Convention - The Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana

by Kristen Canezaro

"Beyond the presentations and discussions, I was fortunate to encounter so many beautiful souls throughout the convention. One of the things I cherish most about Episcopal gatherings is the genuine warmth and welcome I have always experienced."

St. Francis Day at St. Alban's

From Fr. Brandon Peete, St. Alban's, LSU:

On Sunday, October 4, members and friends of St. Alban’s Chapel, LSU, brought their animal companions along to church for special blessings in honor of the Feast of St. Francis. With animals surrounding us in the sanctuary, perched on pews or sitting in laps as praise and thanksgiving were offered to God, we were all transported into Noah’s Ark for a truly unforgettable hour. For the entirety of the Holy Eucharist service, our pets were surprisingly reverent and waited patiently for their individual blessings offered by the Reverend Brandon Peete, Chaplain.

The next day, member Donna Sentell wrote, "Yesterday at church was, without a doubt, the most special and beautiful St. Francis Day I’ve ever experienced. There was something so incredibly moving about seeing so much love, patience, and compassion shown to all creatures—great and small. It was inspiring, emotional, and honestly, a little overwhelming in the most beautiful way.

I wanted to share a few pictures from the day, along with some of my son’s sketches. His drawings made the day even more special to me and captured, in their own way, the beauty and spirit of these amazing creatures.”
