Dear Congregants,
As we journey together towards a decision about merging our congregations, our clergy, staff, and leaders continue seeking ways to include everyone in the process. Through joint congregation services, shared clergy services, joint affiliate meetings, special programs, regular updates, and an open channel to leadership, we've all had many chances to get involved in this important decision.
One of the special ways we have been able to connect personally with Clergy and each other is through our Living Room Conversations with Clergy (LRCC). These small-group events provide a cozy, casual setting for meaningful discussion, schmoozing, and of course, noshing.
As of this writing, five Conversations have taken place, with the goal of fostering an environment where we can connect with our spiritual leaders and begin building personal ties with them. In each one, congregants raised important issues, and the Clergy listened and responded openly. In turn, the Clergy shared their dreams of creating meaningful Jewish experiences. Open discussions followed, and everyone learned from each other.
Beyond connecting clergy and congregant, these gatherings let congregant connect with congregant, across and within our own congregations. While socializing over food, people exchanged phone numbers and stories. One group reached out afterwards asking for another chance to meet with each other. Chavurot began to form organically.
These Conversations have been well received and fruitful, so we plan to continue offering them as long as there is interest. The Clergy are delighted to attend. They have found them to be a comfortable way to bond and learn.
We invite you to join the conversation! Please fill out this form to be a host and/or attendee at one of these LRCCs.
