Letter from the Pastor:

Necessity is truly the mother of invention.

Palm Sunday of 2010 Living Water was almost two years old and we were breaking in our second rental building in as many years. That cool Spring morning our small but faithful group piled inside, handed out palms, read the processional gospel and the children’s processional march of palms began.

Leading the parade, immediately I realized there was one detail I’d neglected to anticipate: where we’d march! The small structure worked just fine for worship & our small JAM classes, but one can only expect so much out of a 20 X 40 stick frame building. Enter necessity: out the door we went! I don’t know who was giggling & laughing more that day, the families inside or the kids outside.

Church, the Holy Spirit is telling us loud & clear: it’s time for some new creative thinking. Even though we are separated physically, God is calling us to come together virtually in ways we never imagined.

JAM parents - what creative and imaginative children you have. Thank you! As I write this, all the videos you sent our way are being linked together into one long, beautiful, virtual procession that will be played on our LiveStream worship this weekend while the Worship Team hails the entry of our King.

And the inventing doesn’t stop there. Sunday morning we step into Holy Week and with it, some brand new attempts at virtually walking as church with Jesus to the garden of betrayal and hill of crucifixion, leading to the big surprise of Easter Sunday. Church, the creative, life-giving Spirit of Jesus is moving among us and I can’t wait to see how it grows our faith & strengthens our witness during this greatest and holiest of weeks.

Living for Jesus!

New Living Water Website
Our church has purchased a new domain and is in the process of building a brand new web site. In addition to being less expensive than our current site, the new site will sync with the LW App and our giving platform. We expect to have the basic site up and running within the week. Watch our FB page and these Announcements for updates. Thanks!
Easter Sunday: LW’s Virtual Communion
N ecessity is the mother of invention. And this Easter Sunday Living Water has figured out a way for this family of believers to connect around a virtual table to celebrate communion wherever we may be watching the LiveStream service; and at the same time practice two of our core values: a) connecting families; b) sharing the Good News of Jesus with our neighbors.

Between now and Easter we are asking all of our LW families to read through one of the (3) SUPER EASY recipe links below for unleavened bread. The first is what we use at LW, the second is using white flour, the third is unleavened. Purchase the ingredients, follow the simple instructions for making the bread, and have it ready on Easter Sunday when we’ll all receive instructions on how to commune one another and ourselves during worship.

http://livingwithflare.blogspot.com/2014/11/gluten-free-unleavened-bread-recipe.html

Now it’s time to serve others through Christ! We all have friends, neighbors & family without a church home, right? Pray about who you can share one of your unleavened loaves with, then after securing their permission for a drop off at their doorstep, safely wrap it, place it in a paper bag along with a short note explaining how & when they can join the Easter Sunday LiveStream , and make the drop. That’s it!

Church, thank you for bravely being church and serving others through Christ during COVID-19!

P.S. No worries if you don’t have time or can’t make bread. Families are more than welcome to use any bread or crackers sitting in the cupboard!
 A Virtual Procession

This year the JAM families are crazy excited to invite you all to join our virtual congregation as we process with palms, remembering Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem at the beginning of Holy Week. All week long we’ve been having a blast, making & submitting videos. Come see us online this Sunday!
