  Small Groups

Read Through the Bible

Through August 31

This summer, we will once again read through the entire Bible! Participants will receive a reading plan that takes them through scripture in three months. This year you have the option of studying alone or in a small group.

  One Day LiFT Women’s Retreat

Saturday, August 22nd

Living Word Lutheran Church

Philippians 2:5 “In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus.” As followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to support one another as we grow in our faith. Let’s explore key aspects of living in a way that is pleasing to the Lord Jesus Christ. As we commit to living out these truths together we will see God glorified in our relationships. Join us on Saturday, August 22, to discuss the ways scripture shows us to support one another. Doors will be open at 8 a.m., pastries and coffee will be available. We will start at 9 a.m. We will have a potluck lunch coordinated with a Sign Up Genius. Sign up at mylwlc.com or via invite found on the table in the Narthex. For more information, please contact Donna Sellers or Lori Kohler.

LiFT Prayer Journal

During January’s LiFT Tea, the latest version of our prayer journal was presented. This journal focuses on deepening our insight into the “5 Keys to Prayer.” There are new daily devotions and other activities to engage us in prayer. If you are interested in receiving the latest version, stop by the information desk in the extended narthex.

This Sunday after the late service, the youth will head out for lunch and then we will go to Discovery Village Nursing home to help with their weekly church service. We are done by 3pm.

Slick City Event Today!

The younger youth (grades 1-5) will be going to Slick City (5655 Colleyville Blvd. Colleville) an indoor slide park today from 5:45-7:30 pm. It’s a great facility with lots of fun to be had, so bring a friend and meet us there for an exciting evening! There is no cost for this event. Sign up online.

Family Night Baseball Game

This is a family event, for the church at the Rough Riders Baseball game on August 16th, at 6pm. The cost is $15 and paid to the church. We will meet at church at 4pm and take the church van and eat fast food on the way. You can also meet us at the stadium before the game. There is a lazy river in the outfield that we will have access to the entire game as well as deck chairs to relax in. Sign up online and bring your suit and a friend and see you at the park.

Wednesday Night Alive

All kids ages 3 through 5th grade are invited! This is a time of Bible study,

music, crafts and fun! It’s a special program designed to develop our walk of discipleship while making lasting friendships. Mark your calendars!

Rally Day

Sunday, September 13th

Sunday School classes begin September 13th at 10am! Register your child at the table in the narthex if they will be entering the 3 year old class or did not attend Sunday School last year.

Nursing Home Ministry

We are putting together a team to lead worship at Bear Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center here in Grapevine. Worship services will be on the 4th Sunday of each month at 2pm. Contact Steve Burke if you can join the team (steve@lwlc.com).

Quilting Group

Did you know quilters call in-progress quilts “quilt sandwiches”? Each has a top, middle, and back. Right now, the LWLC Quilters need “middles,” and flat bed sheets work perfectly for this! Cotton or cotton/poly flat sheets (any color) can be repurposed into the middle layer of quilts that travel the world to provide warmth, shelter, or even carry-all. Flannel is fine, too—but satin and knit sheets are too slippery. If you have extra sheets in good condition at home or find them at a yard sale, please consider donating them. The Quilters thank you for your generosity!

Recent Google Review for Love One Another Preschool

We have been so impressed with the love and attention they have given to our daughter. It’s so nice they have plenty of room for the kids since they use the entire church for preschool. It’s a wonderful mission that the church provides for those in the community since it’s free. I thought there would be a “catch” but there hasn’t and it’s been a wonderful experience for us all!

Did You Know...?

Saturday, July 25 was Living Word's very first Everything Is Free event!

We are incredibly thankful for everyone who donated such wonderful items and for the amazing team of volunteers who invested countless hours that week to make the event possible. Our prayer was simple: that God would use this event to bless individuals and families in our community who are struggling to make ends meet. Praise God! Hundreds of people from our community came and found the things they needed—and everything was FREE. Why? Because we serve a God who is incredibly generous. He freely gave us His Son to save us, and we have the joy of freely giving to others. To God alone be the glory!
