Many great writers and inspirational teachers have been sharing for years the importance of living in the now.

If you focus on the past, you miss what is happening in the moment, and the same applies to worrying about the future. Learning from the past is beneficial, dwelling in the past is not. The object of your attention is always a choice.

There are many choices, some good, some not so good, and if we choose to, we learn and grow from the not so good. Obviously we each evaluate what that means to us. With all the years of searching for what feels good for me, and knowing how much I benefit from making those choices, I have created a new list. On the top of my list is feeling good and experiencing joy.

When I pay attention and make each moment deliberate and meaningful, I find that I am living in the now, and the now can be beautiful if we look within instead of trying to find it outside of ourselves. Joy is within everyone. Finding it and connecting to it is the greatest gift to give to ourselves.

Every single one of you gives me joy. The holidays are approaching, and even though our world is different today, joy is still available for all of us.
