Classic Christmas Craft Show Recap

A note from Yvonne Schmidt:

A special thank you to everyone who helped with the first GG Classic Christmas Craft show! Couldn't have done it without such a great team of helpers!

There was a lot of time spent behind the scenes in planning and preparation and thanks to all those that did that.

Thanks to all who gave up time on Saturday to volunteer, or who stopped in to shop, say hi, or spread the news to others about our sale. We received quite a bit of positive feedback from those that attended. Our school seemed well received by the community!

A note from Regina Hamlett:

We had the best time at the Guardian Guild Classic Christmas Craft Show!!! Over 40 vendors came out to support the school and sell their Christmas wares! Thankful to be at a school that supports the students, the families, small business and the community.

PARENT SPOTLIGHT

 Yvonne Schmidt

Yvonne Schmidt is the Upper School Committee chair of LCA. She is married to her husband, Mike, and they have 3 girls. 

The older girls (Tara and Summer) are in high school and their youngest (Renee) is in grade 6, and will be joining the upper school next year. They have attended LCA since 2020 and have enjoyed the focus on a classical curriculum.

Yvonne has been helping raise funds for the Upper School with a current focus on the DC trip in the spring. This is an exciting opportunity for the juniors and seniors and she is looking forward to more experiences for the Upper School.

She is a CPA in public accounting with a focus mainly on tax compliance and tax planning for businesses and individuals. She also occasionally helps substitute at the school. 

In her limited spare time, Yvonne enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, playing piano or guitar, and spending time with her family, which includes 5 chickens and 2 guinea pigs.

Light Up the Park Tree Decorating Recap

Extra-Curricular Activities | Updates

Baking Class was a success!

All who participated had a lot of fun being creative in the kitchen and learning some new confectionery skills!

Bowling Club is off to a great start. The kids are having fun learning the game and making new friends!
