New Leaders Named in Charlotte, Cleveland, and Des Moines
After a nationwide search for a superintendent, North Carolina’s Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools selected interim superintendent Crystal Hill to lead the 140,406-student school district, the state’s second largest. 
Dallas Boosts the Number of Hispanic and Black Students Taking Advanced Classes
In 2019, the Dallas Independent School District implemented a policy in which all students in grades 6-8 who scored well on state exams were automatically enrolled in advanced mathematics, reading, science and social studies — or some combination of the four. 

Tracking the Use of ESSER Funds in Cleveland

Urban Students Selected as 2023 U.S. Presidential Scholars
Vaeanui Peck, a senior at Kahuku High and Intermediate School in Hawaii, is ranked first in her class with a 4.145 grade-point average and will be graduating as valedictorian with academic, STEM Capstone, National Honor Society and career and technical education honors.
