This pandemic recovery economy presents many opportunities for bad actors to take advantage of hardworking families in Georgia and across the country. For example, direct financial benefits to families, such as the stimulus checks and child tax credit payments, create avenues for all sorts of fraud and scams aimed at obtaining those funds.
Senators Raphael Warnock (D-GA) and Thom Tillis (R-NC) have invited Georgia Watch executive director Liz Coyle to testify on this issue. Liz plans to share what the organization has seen on the ground in Georgia, as well as recommendations to policymakers to protect consumers during the recovery. Details are below:
