Richard is widely known as an impressive solo performer and raconteur, charming audiences with his lively humor and fingerstyle wizardry. He delivers a wide array of music ranging from Bach to Zeppelin, with Delta blues, classical, folk, jazz, and rock elements receiving outstanding show reviews. DigitalDreamDoor ranked him 51 out of the top 100 greatest acoustic guitar players.

Richard has toured the world for over three decades as a solo artist as well as in duo and trio settings. Additionally, he has opened for major headliners Warren Zevon, America, The Little River Band, Leo Kottke, and Steve Morse, and comedians Richard Lewis, Louie Anderson and more. He has been featured in hundreds of festivals, music halls, schools, and music series appearances worldwide. He performed at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
