Local. State. National
Michael Strech, President and CEO
Since 1944 the BIA has served as an organization in which members are able to connect with one another and build meaningful relationships.  These relationships bind the building industry together and allow us to speak with one voice.  Behind the scenes, our government affairs team works diligently with elected officials on a local level to create a favorable business environment for our members to build homes throughout the region.
As you may know, North State BIA is part of a national federation made up of local and state associations, as well as the National Association of Home Builders.  These three pieces work together to represent the building industry at multiple levels and improve the environment in which we work.
At a state level, California Building Industry Association (CBIA) works with state legislators, the governor's office and on regulatory issues to ensure that California and the building industry can work together to meet housing goals across the state. Several North State BIA members sit on the Board of Directors for CBIA and are actively involved in the leadership of the state association.
The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) works on federal issues in Washington D.C. to build positive relationships that allows building industry leaders to provide input on important regulations and topics, including federal environmental issues and monetary policy that resides at the national level.
The three levels of the federation are all extremely important.  Your association remains actively engaged in all levels of government to truly ensure that our voice remains strong.  Additionally, many of the topics we face at the local level are being examined on the state and national level as well and the federation that we belong to creates consistent messaging in all three areas.
As a North State BIA member you belong to all three organizations representing the interests of the building industry.  We encourage you to explore your benefits and find out more about getting involved with  CBIA or  NAHB by clicking the links.

NSBIA and HomeAid Thrive Together on the Big Day of Giving!
For 23 years the North State BIA and HomeAid Sacramento have worked side by side to help the transitionally homeless and improve the Sacramento Community.  HomeAid has affectionately been the building industry's Charity of Choiceand North State BIA is proud to be the "sole-member" of HomeAid since its inception in 1996.
Our members have become passionate about the work that HomeAid does and are excited to make a difference in our community.  As the years go on, the support HomeAid receives from BIA members grows and becomes stronger. On May 2nd, the Big Day of Giving provides an excellent opportunity for our industry to show its continuing support by donating to HomeAid.
The BIA and HomeAid partnership has been an abundant triumph.   We move as different parts on the same machine and are both equally important to each-others success. The BIA is excited about the 100th project and looking forward to working with HomeAid for 23 more years and longer! Together we help our industry thrive!

HomeAid tours Children's Receiving Home of Sacramento
HomeAid Sacramento has enjoyed a long standing partnership with the  Children's Receiving Home of Sacramento
In March, our board experienced a "mission moment" when we had our board meeting at Children's Receiving Home. CEO, David Ballard led us on a wonderful tour of the campus, making sure to point out the various projects and buildings donated by HomeAid Sacramento.   "It is amazing to look back and see HomeAid Sacramento's projects still making an impact on children and families who have experienced trauma and abuse," commented HomeAid Executive Director, Beth Kang.

This year, Children's Receiving Home is celebrating their 75th anniversary of being a leader in providing comprehensive care to children, youth and their families.
