3.AFL-CIO Press Release : Supreme County Voting Decision Will Have Dire Consequences for Democracy. The labor movement has always fought for the freedom to vote without discrimination and without intimidation. That freedom was once again attacked by a Supreme Court dead set on unraveling democracy at the workplace and the ballot box. America’s unions are committed to working with our allies to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, the For the People Act and the PRO Act to prevent future attacks on our democratic freedoms.
