Applications Open for Medicine Hat Business Innovation Grant
Applications are now open for Phase 1 of the  CMH Business Innovation Grant , part of the COVID-19 Assistance package approved by council on May 4, 2020. The Assistance package is intended to support residents and business in coping with and recovering from the economic impacts of COVID-19. Phase 1 of the grant (up to $500,000 will focus on supports required for local businesses to adapt to the guidelines mandated by the government for a safe workplace. Apply here
Business Beat: Innovation Series
As a business owner during the province-wide re-launch, what are you doing to make yourself, your employees and your customers feel safe when they enter your establishment? We’ve all read the Provincial Re-launch Guideline documents , the general guideline and/or the industry specific guidelines located here. We know we are required to perform a hazard assessment with our employees.Writing up a hazard assessment provides the opportunity to discuss our tasks, any hazards we may encounter when performing those tasks and then discuss how we will mitigate the risks involved. Travel Alberta Cooperative Investment Fund
The Cooperative Investment Program is to assist tourism operators and regions across Alberta to RESTART consumer marketing activities and aid in the development of traveler products, experiences, and packaging in a COVID-19 travel environment. The program opened on June 1 to support partners with product/experience development and partnership marketing. Revised guidelines are posted on the   Industry Hub .
Canada Post's Think Small Support Program
Through   Canada Post’s Think Small support program , SMEs can now benefit from a quick, easy and cost-effective way to promote their business to the local community through two offers in direct mailing. Shared Mailing is an option that allows businesses to group together and promote their business in a booklet that includes advertisements from other small businesses. Solo mailing makes the business stand out with a standalone postcard through Canada Post Neighbourhood Mail.
Only a Few Days Left to Apply for the Small Business Grant
Applications will close June 12, 2020 for the Canadian Chamber's Canadian Business Resilience Network Small Business Relief Fund . These grants are possible through the generosity of Salesforce and will be offered as a one-time payment of $10,000 to 62 businesses across the country.
Expanded Testing for Albertans
Testing is now available to all Albertans, whether they have COVID-19 symptoms or not. Expanded testing will provide data to further understand the impacts of moving to the next stage of Alberta’s Relaunch Strategy and help the government understand where there might be undetected positive cases and prevent further spread of the virus. Roadmap to Recovery
The Candian Chamber has launched   Roadmap to Recovery ,   which takes a comprehensive look at the challenges facing our economy and identifies 51 specific recommendations governments should adopt to overcome the challenges identified. Canada was prepared to do whatever it took to ensure we made it through this pandemic, and we need to apply the same mindset to repairing our economy. Read their   press release .
