LTAP Tailgate Talk Series: Work Zone Safety Tips Work zones are a necessary part of the life cycle of our streets, roads, and highways. They provide a safe area for workers and a safe route for road users around needed road work activity. Across the nation, a total of 754 lives were lost in 2018. SAFE WORK ZONES FOR ALL

It's Work Zone Awareness Week until Friday! April 20-24, 2020 Despite the cancellation of the kickoff and other in-person activities, we continue to celebrate Work the National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW) nationwide as planned. Crashes in and around work zones impact everyone. We must protect workers. We must protect road users. We must have safe work zones for all. We can do it! We strongly encourage you to take part in this event by using social media to remind the public to drive carefully in and around work zones. Read more.

Louisiana DOTD observing Work Zone Awareness Week The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is observing Work Zone Awareness Week from April 20 to 24. As part of Work Zone Awareness Week, a safety cone memorial has been set up in front of DOTD headquarters. This is in recognition of those who have lost their lives in work zones.  Read more. Louisiana COVID-19 News LA Department of Health Issues Revised Order for Medical and Surgical Procedures Last Monday, the Louisiana Department of Health issued a revised order for medical and surgical procedures. This guidance is necessary during a public health emergency to preserve personal protective equipment, to properly utilize hospital staffing and to ensure adequate hospital bed capacity. Read more.

This series is recommended for all levels because we’ve learned that leadership is an activity, not a position, and anyone can lead - anytime, anywhere.

AASHTO's TC3 Training Flagger (1 PDH)  The Technical Service Program within AASHTO, the Transportation Curriculum Coordination Council (TC3)'s is offering various web-based training on all sorts of transportation topics. This is a basic training in the area of flagger training. It has been designed for someone learning the first steps in performing flagger duties.
