Trails: a strong community asset

Peachtree Corners is fortunate to have amazing outdoor amenities we can all enjoy, such as the Chattahoochee River, parks, streams, and a wonderful Town Center. Everyone who enjoys being outside takes advantage of these areas of our community. Additionally, according to the National Association of Realtors, recent studies have confirmed living near trails and greenways will likely raise your property value an average of 3-5% and sometimes even as high as 15%.

Approximately seven years ago, the City began work on a way to connect our City through the creation of our multi-use trail system, the Corners Connector. Through various state funding sources, several locations and feasibility studies have been completed that serve as the foundation of planning for the ultimate build-out of this trail. It began in 2015 with the completion of the Peachtree Corners Livable Centers Initiative, which was funded by the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC). This was one of the first projects that identified the base location for the final trail system.  READ MORE
Food truck outfitter moves to Peachtree Corners

The Peans recently moved their Food Truck outfitting businesses from Lawrenceville to Peachtree Corners. Left to right, Lentz Pean, Malana Jayde and Larissa Pean, in a completed food truck kitchen.

A lot of people have good ideas and think, “I should start a business.” But Lentz Pean acts on it. He and his wife, Larissa, recently moved their business, Food Trucks Unlimited, from Lawrenceville to 6611 Bay Circle in Peachtree Corners. Pean is a serial entrepreneur who seems to grab opportunities when they arise. Food Trucks Unlimited, a food truck fabrication company, is one of several small businesses that Pean has launched, and the most recent. With the help of team member Malana Jayde, the Peans outfit step vans and trailers with stainless steel commercial coolers, burners, broilers, sinks and other cooking equipment. They make them easy to clean and compliant with the fire marshal and other regulatory departments.

“We know what the health department is looking for,” Mr. Pean said.

He would. Before starting Food Trucks Unlimited, he launched Grubbin’ Out, a gourmet sliders business, which he operates out of a food truck and trailer. From that he noticed that there was a need for kitchen space for the food truck operators to prepare food. In 2016, he opened My Kitchen LLC at 7050 Jimmy Carter Blvd. in Peachtree Corners. He leases space to other food truck companies and ghost kitchens. Chefs and other people who are good at crafting restaurant fare can rent space for catering jobs or other culinary endeavors.

For Pean it was a case of one thing leading to another. Although he has spent time in various professions, such as policing and teaching, he seems to be an entrepreneur at his core. Mrs. Pean also previously worked in public service. She was an RN before the couple started outfitting vehicles and creating food trucks. She is a craftswoman, highly skilled in carpentry and other trades. In fact, she built a home with her father who is an architect.

Food Trucks Unlimited is working on 30 projects now. They specialize in every aspect of building a food truck. Mr. Pean is a board member of the Street Food Coalition through which he assists entrepreneurs in building their businesses and reaching goals. Grubbin’ Out is also a member of the Food Truck Association of Georgia.
