If you or a family member has suffered from Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) for a long time or are newly diagnosed, this class will help you to better understand symptoms, triggers & treatment options for IBS, including the low-FODMAP diet.

Malnutrition Awareness week is October 4-8th, but what does this mean in Canada? The word ‘malnutrition’ seems like a problem most encountered in low-income countries. It may be surprising to hear that 20-45% of patients admitted to Canadian hospitals are malnourished.
When compared to individuals who aren’t malnourished, individuals who are malnourished tend to stay in the hospital longer, are more likely to be
re-admitted to hospitals after being discharged and are at a higher risk of death. Why? Because nutrition matters. Read more...

The Bow Valley Good Food Box (GFB) is a monthly assortment of fresh produce representing local, seasonal and organic when possible.
The content varies each month based on seasonal availability and pricing. Please note there are no choices/replacement items.

Subsidized prices are available to low income individuals and

The Bow Valley Immigration Partnership (BVIP) invites you to CONNECT to COMMUNITY through events and activities October 11-17, 2021.
At the Bow Valley Primary Care Network (PCN) we encourage ALL Bow Valley Residents to connect with us via accessible health and wellness support programs, including: community classes, support groups and consultations with our health care professionals to help you make a support plan for issues such as chronic pain, nutrition and more.
ALL Bow Valley PCN programs are free of charge and do not require a referral from your family doctor. We are also pleased to share a comprehensive

COVID-19 Vaccine Information
Bow Valley Pharmacies:
Over 1,300 Alberta-based pharmacies are providing COVID-19 immunization with either Moderna or Pfizer vaccines. To find out where you can get vaccinated visit www.ab.bluecross.ca. Bow Valley pharmacies offering vaccines are listed on the PCN website.
Primary Care Clinics:
Alpine Medical Clinic is providing Moderna and Pfizer vaccines as supplies are available. Appointments must be booked in advance. Please check the clinic website for availability.
COVID-19 Testing in the Bow Valley
Bow Valley residents with access to personal transportation should visit ahs.ca to complete an online COVID-19 screening questionnaire.
If eligible for testing, then the patient will be advanced to an online schedule to book an appointment.

Community Cruisers Subsidy Program to Winterize your Bike!
Apply for the Community Cruisers' 2021 Bike All Winter Program. The program will give up to 50 people free or subsidized winter bicycle tires, lights and fenders (and other supports) in exchange for a commitment to ride their bike in winter.
Applications will be accepted from September 15 to October 14. Those selected for the program will be notified on October 19.

AHS Children, Youth and Families - Addiction and Mental Health Caregiver October Programming
The AHS CYF - Addiction and Mental Health Caregiver Education Team is proud to offer free mental health programming for parents and caregivers of children and youth through our partnership with the Mental Health Foundation.
In response to the global pandemic, our programming continues to be offered virtually at this time. View all program offerings.

Grief Support Walking Group
This is a no-cost, drop-in grief conversation group open to all 18+ who are grieving. We meet at the community mailboxes at Riverside Park (south of 8th on River Road).
We will walk and chat for about 30 minutes and then stop for a guided conversation on the themes of loss and grief.
Every Wednesday: 4:45 pm - 5:30 pm

Parkinson Association of Alberta Canmore Support Group
Everyone is welcome! The Support Group is open to individuals with Parkinson's Disease, spouses, care partners, family members and friends.
The group provides opportunities to learn up-to-date information on Parkinson’s, share tips and resources, connect with the Parkinson's community and get the support you need.
2nd Thursday of each month starting in October
Time: 1:30 – 3:00 pm

Bow Valley Stroke Support Group Meeting
Have you experienced a stroke? This is an opportunity to join in conversation with other stroke survivors: to find a space for each of us to offer and receive encouragement, to share experience and support along the long journey of recovery. This meeting is one of fellowship, education and sharing of our action plans moving forward.
Please join us this month to hear from Alana, the Community Outreach Coordinator with Rocky Mountain Adaptive in Canmore.
