Fairfield County

Home Sale Report

Here's How the Market Performed in September
as reported by the SmartMLS
Quick recap : Home sales were down considerably from last month by close to 28%. Although there was a drop in sales volume, the average number of days on the market also dropped in all towns with the exception of New Canaan. Reduced market time is a positive sign, but could be driven by lower inventory levels. Sales over $2.0 million accounted for about 8% of all transactions which is typical and sales below $1.0 million remain at about 70%, also typical.

Real estate is local and varies between each town, area and price point.
